People love Korean dramas (K-dramas) for a variety of reasons, and these reasons can vary from person to person. Here are some of the common factors that contribute to the popularity of K-dramas:

Destined With You
A fantasy, romance drama, the show premiered on august 23rd and is fresh up on Netflix. It stars Jo Bo-Ah, Kim Ro Woon, Ha-Joon and Yura.
Lee Hong-Jo, portrayed by Jo Bo-Ah, is a level 9 civil servant, the lowest grade in the hierarchy. Despite frequently facing numerous civil complaints, she consistently dedicates herself to her job. Her personal life, however, is marked by solitude and self-sufficiency. One lucky day, her life takes an unexpected turn when she acquires ownership of an old wooden chest along with the key to break a long-standing curse afflicting Jang Shin-Yu, portrayed by Kim Ro Woon.
Jang Shin-Yu is a highly capable lawyer, is intelligent and has a striking appearance. He typically finds himself in the limelight wherever he goes, yet he grapples with an inexplicable ailment that worsens over time. Desperate to break free from the curse that has plagued his family for generations, Jang Shin-Yu turns to Lee Hong-Jo, the possessor of the ancient wooden chest, in search of a solution. Unusual but very interesting and might just surprisingly get you hooked along with many heart fluttering scenes.
A Time Called You
Also a fantasy, romance drama with time travel and murder mysteries plots. Released on September 8, starring the popular Ahn Hyo Seop from Business Proposal (who we are most excited to watch) the drama casts; Jeon Yeo-been, Kang Hoon, and Rowoon, under the direction of Kim Jin-Won and penned by writer Choi Hyo-Bee.
The Korean romance series, “A Time Called You” essays a woman who is struggling to cope with the loss of her boyfriend who she really misses even a year later. She one day, suddenly finds herself transported to the late 90’s as a high school student, when she encounters a guy, also a high school student; he bears an uncanny resemblance to her lost love. While she delves into her mysterious time travel experience she must also come to terms with the now existence of these two parallel realities. The drama shuffles between the present day and the year 1998. Reviews say it will make you laugh, cry and gasp all together.
Behind Your Touch
Directed by Kim Suk-Yoon and written by Lee Nam-Kyu, starring Han Ji-min, Lee Min-ki and Suho – Behind your touch is a crime-comedy drama which premiered on 12th August and is now streaming on Netflix.
The drama gives off cozy small town vibes and a sense of community but it might take a couple episodes to fully immerse in the story. The drama showcases Bong Ye-Bun (played by Han Ji-Min) who serves as a veterinarian in the serene and crime-free rural village, Mujin. She also carries the unique ability known as psychometry which allows her to get a glimpse into a person or animal’s past when she touches them. She is warm hearted but a somewhat nosy individual. As she explores her extra ordinary power and its limits she becomes entangled with Detective Moon Jang-Yeol (played by Lee Min-Ki)
Moon Jang-Yeol was once a revered detective on Seoul’s violent crime investigation team but he subsequently was demoted to a lowkey police station in the village of Mujin. While he struggles to regain his position in the Seoul police department, it leads him to exploit Bong Ye-Bun’s power of her psychometric gift. Together they tackle small cases in Mujin but a serial murder investigation ends up taking place. Appears a mysterious figure, Kim Seon-Woo (played by Suho) who takes on a part time job at the convenience store in the village. He has an innocent and compassionate demeanour, interacts with people kindly but will his gentle smile be really all that simple? Watch to find out.
