On 5th October, Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal announced that he had lodged a cyber complaint against Pakistani cricket presenter Zainab Abbas due to the surfacing of her old posts containing anti-Hindu and anti-India content.
Jindal, in his complaint dated 4th October, accused Zainab Abbas of making statements that were derogatory towards India and Hinduism. He communicated the complaint to the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police, urging the initiation of an FIR (First Information Report) against Abbas. He specified the sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) – 153A, 295, 506, 121 – and section 67 of the IT Act under which he sought action against her for her offensive remarks.
