Shifting the narrative landscape and offering viewers a drama watch that was not only engaging and entertaining but was also sharply executed, with a few surprises towards the end. Gumn paved the way for the action-thriller based genre in the industry.

A Happy Ending?
Rayyan’s death was shocking and broke our heart. We were desperately hoping for a happy ending for Maya and Rayyan. Both had suffered so much in life, and we thought that maybe now, it was time that they received the happiness they deserved through each other, and also help heal each other. But the writers went for a more true-to-life ending, also showing us that life must go on. Rayyan’s death was also probably the only solution in the story, as the fact that Rayyan had murdered three people, would have most probably haunted both Maya and Rayyan for the rest of their lives.
An Ending Well Worth The Wait!
The final two episodes were very interesting and captivating, as we waited anxiously to see what Rayyan would do to Maya. Will Maya manage to save him, will Rayyan kill Hameed, or justice will prevail, and Hameed will be caught. The drama finished off by giving hope to the viewers that in the end, we must pay a price for our actions in this world. The fact that Maya didn’t break down and give up on life after Rayyan’s death, to see her inner strength resurface and choose life with renewed spirit, was a great message. When she imagines Rayyan sitting on the stairs, one hoped that, maybe, just maybe, Rayyan was saved.
Super Performances, Script, Direction
The drama must be appreciated for highlighting Feroz Kadri’s talent as a versatile actor. Sarmad Khoosat never fails to stun his viewers with clever, entertaining, yet refreshingly new concepts in various genres of drama. Tooba Siddiqui was back on the screen after a long time and was an absolute treat to watch and kudos to a great script co-written by Hamza Qazi and Tooba Siddiqui.
