Mystery, thriller, romance, you will get all these in the thoroughly engaging and powerful narrative of Gumn. Rayyan regains his memory, and we discover, that after killing 3 of the 4 people involved in his sister’s death, he has been looking for the 4th person, when he gets hit by Maya’s car – the girl with whom he has been in love for many years.
Super Performances
The interactions between Maya and Rayyan are heart winning. They are amusing and light at times, and often, intense and emotional. From Rayyan giving her a tight hug after the attack in the office, to Maya recalling who Rayyan was, as he helped her calm down through an anxiety attack – the duo of Rayyan and Maya are definitely winning us.
But can we ignore the fact that he has murdered 3 people? Can he be pardoned for this crime? Given the law never punished the culprits of his sister’s death, he decided to take things in his own hands? Will Maya forgive him once she finds out? Now that he has found Maya, will he let go of seeking the 4th person and instead, try to create a life with Maya?
Teaming Up Maybe?
Both Maya and Rayyan have the same enemy, that is “Shakir Hussain and his son Hameed”. Will they join hands and work as a team? But there is also a strong possibility of a clash, as Maya would want to go the legal way, while Rayyan, having lost trust in the justice system, will want to do things his way.
Standout Scenes
Gumn gave us some stressful moments as Maya tried to save herself from the hitman sent by Shakir Hussain to murder her. The sequence was simple yet shot in a gripping manner and executed such that it that made us sit up in nervous anticipation, fearing for Maya’s life.
Hats off to the creators for managing timelines in a way that one doesn’t get confused, and we instantly recognize where and when the scene picks up from.
