Mahnoor’s enthusiasm finally manages to bring Shehraam back to life and to pursuing his dreams. Kishwer, his step mother, is still not aware of the damage that Mahnoor has done to her dark plans. Despite having a very typical “Sazish” oriented story, the drama is saved by the charm of Mahnoor and Shehraam and their much awaited on-screen chemistry.
Kishwer Too Greedy Too Soon?
If only Kishwer would have waited a bit and not pushed the lawyer too much for transferring everything in her name, she might have just become successful in her scheme. But now the lawyer, (whose loyalties are with Shehraam), has become aware of her actions and tried to warn Shehraam subtly. We are so glad for that.
We wonder what delusional world is Tabrez is living in? If the factory is completely ruined, where will he get the money from to follow his luxury lifestyle? Or maybe, he expects to terrorise the workers and still get the work done, which his current manager is not doing btw.
Mahnoor’s Winning Moments
Mahnoor’s character is heart-winning and has a charm all of its own. She will say what is bothering her, giving a reality check to everyone, but then she also has a poetic charm about her with her small yet sincere efforts for everyone around her – trying to get the school building ready for the children, caring about her parents, and showing affection towards her sister – all these actions make her truly endearing.
Most importantly, her pure enthusiasm is a winner and it has managed to touch Shehraam. The fact that she doesn’t have an agenda in pursuing the making of the school has somehow touched Shehraam, making him return towards life, and we just might see him making an effort to once more, follow his dreams.
The way Mahnoor asks Shehraam for a promise about the school was cute and endearing. The act of placing her hand forward could have appeared borderline lame or cringe, but the simplicity of Mahnoor’s character has been established so effectively that it seems okay when she does it, making us fall for Shehraam and Mahnoor when he places his hand over hers.
Zeenat Has Our Attention!
Zeenat’s character is made interesting by the fact that she is not outright negative and scheming like her khala, yet she is also not the most honest or genuine person. The greyness in her character has been executed and performed in such a way that it gets our attention, as opposed to dismissing it as mere toxic.
We also want to appreciate the director Qasim Ali Mureed for making sure that not just the main lead, but a parallel lead/supporting character of Zeenat is also picturised in a dreamy way. This is important to make sure that each character receives its due screen time in the most effective and deserving way. Moreover, we also get to see more diversity in storytelling and performances other than just from the lead actors.
