Hum Films isn’t slow down as Khushhal Khan is all set to dive into the desi wedding tribe. From a young man who has zero plans to wed anytime soon, to being coerced, forced, threatened and duped into a desi wedding, complete with all the bling, drama and more drama – Poppay Ki Wedding trailer has it all.

HUM Films and Starstruck Films present ‘Poppay ki Wedding’ which is the cinematic endeavour of the dynamic duo Kanza Zia and Ammar Lasani. Not only did they write, direct, and produce this movie, but they also roped in a fantastic cast including Khushhal Khan, Nazish Jahangir, Rehan Sheikh, Shamyale Nasir, Sara Aijaz Khan, and Aleezay Rasul.
The trailer isn’t cutting corners, you get what you see. There’s no attempt at shifting the Eid cinema narrative into a message-driven, motivational take on Gen Z lives – HUM has decided to take the fun, light-hearted, comic route of Dulha Dulhan NOT raazi, lekin phir bhi karega Qazi!
Poppay’s Rebellion
Khushhal Khan’s character is rebelling against this very arranged marriage. After much ado about nothing, it seems like he’s not going to get his way. His bestie suggests going ahead with the scheme albeit with one condition, and what’s that?
The groom must be able to at least set eyes (if not meet) the bride before he signs on the dotted line. Zaalim samaaj has other plans though.
It is a fun ride in the park to see Khushhal’s acrobatics, yeah, the guy has stamina and his parkour moves come into play as he scales impossible walls and manages to climb onto rooftops to try to catch a glimpse of his life partner–to–be, but will he able to figure it out in time?
A Fun-Filled Comedy Of Error?
Will we see Poppay be pleasantly surprised or rather unfortunately miserable? Come what may, what we can expect is it setting the tone for a fun-filled comedy of errors perhaps?
The trailer is surely a mix of all elements which makes to be the best kind of formula that works for Eid movies and the aim is to get audiences inside cinemas for some popcorn-filled moments of, laughter, desi family histrionics and a watch that’s both relatable and entertaining.
Poppay Ki Wedding releases worldwide on the 10th of May, 2024.
