Important Announcement…RIP Shahmeer’s character who was sacrificed for part 2 of IM. To recognise his sacrifice, he will be given Tamgha-e-Jurat and a qurbani status.

The Shahmeer who was portrayed like he would die if he loses Shibra, doesn’t die when she leaves him, but celebrates his dukh in style on a boat. The saddest part was reducing his character to someone gullible, devoid of any sharp thinking, and changing his attitude completely after marriage. Where did Ishq and Murshid go?
Should Shibra Forgive Shahmeer?
Can Shibra accept Shahmeer in part 2, after he committed Haroon’s murder, even if it was to take revenge, given how principled she was?
Was killing Haroon enough to win Shibra’s forgiveness? Haroon or no Haroon, what Shahmeer did, was his own conscious choice. Haroon’s murder cannot take away that blame or responsibility from Shahmeer. Shibra cannot and maybe shouldn’t forgive him for what he did before the murder.
Shahmeer’s Transformation…Or Regression?
Was it justified to completely change Shahmeer from how he was initially portrayed? All his promises to Shibra, all his claims, where did it all go…?
It is frustrating to see a character that has been built up to be a hero and makes a place in our heart, lose everything that defined him, instead turning out to be everything that he was not supposed to be. Someone who had executed all political and non-political plans so smartly when he was Fazal Baksh, couldn’t think logically and believed everything Haroon Baig fed him once he married Shibra. This sudden regression just broke our heart as fans of Fazal Baksh and Shahmeer.
Though we appreciated the angle of Shahmeer murdering Haroon Baig and planning how it will probably be seen as if he died of natural causes before carrying this out, and the second twist that Shahmeer leaves everything behind and goes to a village was also an interesting idea, but we wish both these twists had been executed in a better way, and been planned without compromising Shahmeer’s character. Commercial success shouldn’t lead production houses to completely changing the story.
Didn’t look like Shahmeer was bothered at all by Shibra’s rejection. The aashiq we saw in Fazal Baksh, who would be in deep pain if something happened to Shibra seemed devoid of emotions other than the time he was talking to Haroon Baig. It made the story shallow, lacking an emotionally charged viewing experience.
The Shibra We Knew?
Shibra sadly, is just tears and no action. We keep looking for that person who was shown to us in the beginning.
We see the return of Fazal Baksh, witness an open-ended wrap up of the story, making it possible for creators to give us a part 2 in whatever way they choose – with or without Shibra at the start, or Shibra entering the story line later … many interesting combinations are possible.
Though Shahmeer blaming his father for all that went wrong was another ridiculous conversation – how come when he wanted to win Shibra, he didn’t care about anything and went ahead, when he wanted to marry her, he clearly told his father he would do it. So previously, he had the ability to take a stand and do things his way till the creators decided to suddenly change his character.
Where Is Sukaina?
Sukaina seemed to have vanished from the lives of her family, maybe even a phone call could have worked?
Again, the editing and sequence of the scenes was erratic and made one feel as if those scenes had been patched together without giving much thought to the flow.
