From Minsa and Tabrez’s runaway bride escape to Zulfi’s cover for his best friend, Rukhsar swinging between Minsa hate and Tabrez love; Ishq Hua was an entertaining watch this week.

A Breezy Episode

Just when we were wondering if Ishq Hua can pick up the pace, this week was a surprise, breezy watch with Bahaar terrorizing and amusing us simultaneously. The thing with Bahaar is, that we never know which way his momentary insanity will take him: will he really pull the trigger on Zulfi, or get fooled by his denials? Overturning the glass of water over his head and then asking Zulfi to cut away his sherwani showed how his reactions can be both self-deprecating, yet quirky and unpredictable at the same time.

Sohail Sameer is adding miles to Bahaar’s role, keeping it interesting for audiences who watch and wait, anticipating his next move.

Bahaar might admit defeat for the time being, but there’s no way his lethal side will not surface once he finds Tabrez. And although we fear the moment when he does come fact to face with Tabrez ultimately, the drama has managed to take a different route and entertain audiences rather than terrorize them, which is a refreshing change.

The Hiding Place

Tabrez and Minsa resurfacing in Ruskhsar’s room was really quite amusing. Even though we suspected it after Zulfi and gang came looking for them at Rukhsar’s, the final reveal was well-executed and Rukhsar nearly fainting at the sight was an amusing sight to see.

Has Rukhsar finally accepted that Tabrez likes Minsa? Because her turnaround was pretty quick, as she asked Bahaar to follow in her footsteps.

The Chase

Tabrez and Minsa escaping from Rukhsar’s house was supposed to be a high-action sequence but once again, the drama fell short of adding the right adrenalin hit behind the scene. The sight of multiple fruit carts on the street made us expect that a few might be overturned in a thrilling encounter, or that Tabrez might be hit by at least one of the bullets fired by Bahaar, but our hero-heroine seemed to have escaped Bahaar’s clutches unscathed without much of a fight. In fact, the chase seemed to be edited in a kind of slomo version and seemed to take away from the adventure and thrill of the moment. Since the entire episode was building up to the chase, we expected more from the final edits.

Bahaar’s Detective Strokes

Bahaar approaching the local neighbourhood kids and bribing them to find Tabrez was a clever tactic. Also, both Zulfi and Tabrez scaling Rukhsar’s wall to enter the house and how this became a point of humour added light-hearted moments to the drama.

Missing Minsa

Minsa’s character needs to show us the same spirit we had witnessed in earlier episodes. She seems to have lost some of her energy and we hope she gets it back in the next episode. On the contrary, we hope we get to see more of Rukhsar as she is now adding the colour to the story, without making it too toxic or overly sensational.

Daas seems to be a disappointment. We are still dubious about his complete loyalty towards Bahaar, hoping he comes out as the final saviour.
