Events in DuniyaPur are warming up on the battle front with Ana and Shahmir about to take the chair.

Will Ana And Shahmir Change DuniyaPur Or… Will DuniyaPur Change Them?

If it got off to a slow start, not in the action, but in our leading lady and man, coming together, the stage is set now, in episode four. So come over Ana and Shahmir, DuniyaPur needs your equation to get the formula right!

Nauroz Adam Needs Help, And Soon!

From sacrificing his daughter, to now, probably losing his son, Nauroz Adam is about to become absolutely clueless in a war he thought he could win, eventually. In giving up Nimra in exchange for Nayab, he thought the deal was done, but DuniyaPur echoes the loud whispers of revenge as Shamsher took out the entourage with the car carrying Nayab and possibly Farhad. Though the full revelation will be unraveled in the coming episode, we can assume that both families; Adam and Dilawaiz have lost a son.

But wait a minute, shouldn’t that make them look beyond the obvious, that there is indeed a third power at play?

Shamsher’s Revenge

The quick revenge mode from last episode to the next must be applauded as we usually see Pakistani dramas stretching the scheming to monotonous detail. But here, the director Shahid Shafaat plays it sharp by not revealing the final scene and hence, although we knew there would be a shock factor before the curtains dropped on episode 4, we didn’t expect THIS, and so soon!

The plot twist has of course, brought Shahmir and Ana one step closer to taking on the reins of DuniyaPur. With both elder brothers out of the picture, the field is wide open, though it is a matter of debate if DuniyaPur will change them, or they will change DuniyaPur? The latter might be more likely, if one takes into account the bloodshed and disaster in the area.

The SHO’s Challenge

Mir Hassan is finally trying to come into his own, but his challenges are higher than Mount Everest and deeper than the deepest oceans as his police contingent seems to have zero respect for his authority. It’s all about the Nauroz vs Adams for them, their daily wages and treats, in fact, livelihood, tied to these two families. The new SHO in town certainly has his work cut out for him and it remains to be seen if he’s able to turn things around in the wild, wild west universe of DuniyaPur.

Shahmir’s Dilemma

Shahmir’s desperation to save Nimra was palpable and we felt his torment. Khushhal did what Khushhal does best – play it with full emotion. When he now takes over the reins, we will be right up there with him, because we know he walks a fine line between wanting to never be a part of the terrible bloodshed that makes up his family ancestry, and yet, he wants to see justice prevail. Ana too, had but a lone companion in her house – Farhad. Once he’s gone, she might either break apart altogether, but her fiery nature suggests she will give in or take on the challenge that is DuniyaPur.

When Words Strike Harder Than The Sword

Nawab Dilawaiz essayed by Manzar Sehbai effectively added shame and misery to every blow he aimed at Nauroz – his words stung more than his actions as he took apart Aurungzeb and then Nauroz. It is interesting how, although both opponents – Nauroz and Nawab have been shown to be ruthless in their actions – Nauroz when he killed Furqan without a moment of thought, and Nawab, when he asked for Nimra’s hand in marriage, yet, Nawab seems to be scoring higher on the villain scale. Perhaps because his words and actions seem more evil and brutal than Nauroz’s? Only time will tell if the creators want us to sympathize more with any one of them. For now, we are wondering if that really as the end of Nayab and Farhad, or will they emerge from the riverbanks or a remote island ala James Bond, but only after a few episodes? The trailer seems to suggest otherwise as funerals are carried out for both.

What We Missed

Nimra’s screams for help were painful as she presumably fought off Nawab Dilawaiz, however the impact was lessened somehow due to them dying down almost suddenly as Ana approached. Also, we would have liked to see a side of Ana that fights for justice, if only by trying to save a young girl as old as herself from the claws of her aged father, at least for the night, if nothing else. But once she turned back, we lost hope, not just for Nimra, but Ana as well.

Nawab Dilawaiz’s second wife seems as toxic as Aurungzeb’s daughter, albeit she is not hiding her claws. Shahmir on the other hand, has no clue that his cousin was involved in getting Furqan killed and Nimra married off. Wait till he finds out that one!

What is the relationship between Aurungzeb and Nawab’s second wife? Are they just conspiring together or is there something more to their bond?

The Moment

DuniyaPur delivered an impactful scene in the final moments as the car blew up over the bridge. Also, the pacing of the story is swift, keeping one engrossed throughout and despite the multitude of characters, intrigues and relationships, it has managed to establish a narrative that will keep viewer anticipating the next episode with curiosity.

We hope the women camp will add more spark and less toxicity to the plot, just like the men of DuniyaPur.
