Shahmir and Ana execute the great escape. Nauroz’s brutality makes us question why the villagers love him so much and Nawab being Nawab is probably the constant in the DuniyaPur universe.

But first…How can Shahmir’s grandmother be so heartless?
Can a mother or a grandmother be so heartless that she is willing to lose her sons and grandchildren just to take her revenge, and not stop at any cost? Can a father (Nauroz Adam) marry his daughter to the very man who raped his mother? Is this the new era of showing senseless brutality at its peak or have the creators missed out on these finer yet rational points?
Can a grandmother after experiencing rape, and knowing that her grand daughter must have suffered the same fate at the hands of the same culprit, tell her to go back to him?
Nauroz Adam’s Savagery Beyond Rational
We understand that Nauroz Adam was taking revenge from Nawab, but this continued savagery in the name of revenge fails to make sense. Nauroz has already lost three sons, (and hunting down a fourth), and he has DuniyaPur now, but to continue this in the name of revenge or survival at the cost of his children’s lives does not hold any ground.
Romance Missing
Ana and Shahmir essayed by Ramsha Khan and Khushhal Khan can set the screen on fire. Yet, we fail to see the creators take advantage of this fabulous onscreen chemistry to give us a love story that is matches the potential of these two talented actors. Which is why the boring drawing room scene was a yawn too many. Why could not we be treated to more interesting interactions between the two since they both look so good onscreen together.
There is still time and we hope these two add the spark to the DuniyaPur screen, taking us along on a love story that defies the senseless and savage thirst for revenge that surrounds them.
Mir Hassan’s Win
Despite these misses, the episode was interesting to watch. We were a little anxious to see if Mir Hassan will manage to help Ana and Shahmir escape, bearing in mind his history of misses. On a lighter note, and his win, we were relieved to note that finally the script gave something useful to do for Mir Hassan.
Some Clever Tactics
That entire conversation with Aurangzeb with the snake example was interesting. Nauroz’s decision to burn down the Nawab haveli to hide the treasure was also great and lastly, Nauroz figuring out the Mir Hassan connection with Shahmir and Ana’s escape made the twists worth watching. Nauroz Adam’s LossNauroz Adam had the potential to become a remarkably interesting character who carried the right balance of ruthless, humanity and intellect but unfortunately, the execution is weak at points. What pulls him down immensely is his lack of feeling for his own children, especially his daughter, even after what happened to his mother.
If only our narratives would stop trying too hard to shape the story in a certain way… like DuniyaPur trying too hard to achieve the feel of Mirzapur?
Was Nawab hinting that he can still produce heirs for DuniyaPur when the guy with whom he is taking refuge uttered that Nawab had no one to carry his name forward now?
