Netflix’s upcoming Gen-Z romantic drama Nadaaniyan has been buzzing ever since the first look dropped, and now, with the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai surprise?

Let’s just say, they really knew how to grab our attention. For those who haven’t seen it yet (where have you been?), the film recreates that legendary “Pyaar Dosti Hai” classroom scene, complete with a love-versus-friendship debate between Arjun (Ibrahim Ali Khan) and Pia (Khushi Kapoor). Keep in mind now: ‘Pyaar aiik arrangement hai.’
But the real kicker? Miss Briganza herself—yes, Archana Puran Singh—walks in, making us feel like we just time-traveled straight to 1998.
It was a total Throwback Thursday moment (literally), and for a split second, nostalgia had us in a chokehold. But did it work? Well… let’s just say the setting was there, but the vibe? A little different. Ibrahim channels a certain cool, carefree energy—low-key giving us Ranbir Kapoor feels and while Khushi holds her own. The magic of SRK-Rani chemistry is, well, a tough act to follow.
Still, watching a fresh take on a Bollywood classic is always fun, even if we’re side-eyeing it a little.

The film has already given us two songs. Ishq Mein is on repeat, and Ghalat Fehmi might be our the new heartbreak anthem on the block.
With Nadaaniyan premiering on March 7 on Netflix, we’re ready to see if the film delivers more nostalgic gems or carves its own space in the Gen-Z romance hall of fame. Either way, we’ll be watching!
