Zainab Mazhar About Meem Se Mohabbat
Ali bhai (the director) wanted Sabeeka to be a total opposite to Roshi.
Zainab Mazhar
Zainab Mazhar shared that when she first received the outline of her character for Meem Se Mohabbat, she knew that director Ali Hassan wanted to meet the character in person. So, she went to the set, where he discussed the role with her. He emphasized the need for a mature character who knew how to carry herself—when to sit, stand, walk, or move. He wanted Sabeeka to be completely opposite to Roshi, making the contrast between them clear.
She also mentioned feeling a bit nervous about working with such a big cast. However, most of her scenes were with Talha and Dananeer, with only a few featuring Asif Raza Mir. She shared that the three of them had a great time off-camera, often playing games, dancing, singing, and chatting when they had free time.
Zainab credited writer Farhat Ishtiaq for crafting such a beautifully written character and screenplay, making her job as an actor much easier. She felt that everything was so well-defined that she only needed to read and absorb it. She also praised Ali Hassan for his dedication to every character, acknowledging his hard work in shaping performances.
Partnership & Love – Zainab Mazhar’s POV
Love is a 2nd or 3rd stage. The first thing is, one should be there for you.
Zainab Mazhar
Zainab Mazhar shared that the most important aspect of a relationship is presence and partnership. A partner should always be there in every situation, making it about “us” rather than “me” or “you.” Love comes later, but first, there must be a strong bond where both individuals prioritize each other. Respect is another essential factor, not just for the partner but also for those connected to them. She emphasized that respect does not mean forcing someone to change who they are—acceptance should come without conditions.
She highlighted the importance of consistency in relationships, stating that love should not be overwhelming one day and absent the next. Small, thoughtful gestures matter more than occasional grand displays of affection. Checking in regularly and being emotionally available are signs of a strong partnership. She expressed that, as someone independent, she does not seek financial support but rather emotional companionship and understanding.
Harassment We Overlook Every Day – But Shouldn’t!
I want girls to be so direct that if somebody is asking you irrelevant questions, just tell them why are you asking such questions?
Zainab Mazhar
Zainab Mazhar shared that harassment is not just physical but also includes inappropriate questions and conversations that women face daily. She explained that in professional settings, men often ask personal questions unrelated to work, such as details about family or free-time activities. She emphasized that such inquiries are unacceptable and should be addressed directly. Women should confidently shut down these questions instead of ignoring them, as staying silent allows such behavior to continue.
She highlighted the importance of mental preparedness when stepping outside, as facing such situations is inevitable. Harassment begins with these seemingly small intrusions, which serve as a test to gauge a woman’s reaction. Recognizing these early signs is crucial in understanding the level of respect the other person holds. She stressed that women must remain vigilant and assertive in such encounters.
She also emphasized that sustenance and success come from Allah, and no one should feel pressured to tolerate inappropriate behavior for professional growth. She expressed that when a person maintains strong principles and self-respect, they attract good opportunities and meet people who treat them with the dignity they deserve.
