1. When Life Gives You Tangerines
In the sunny, windswept fields of Jeju Island, Ae-sun dreams not of fishing nets or tangerine orchards, but of poetry and a life bigger than her small seaside village. She’s stubborn, radiant, and occasionally exasperating – especially to Gwan-sik, the quiet, steady boy next door who’s been hopelessly in love with her since before he knew what love was. But this isn’t just one love story – it’s four volumes of laughter, tears, and “did that really just happen?” as Ae-sun and Gwan-sik grow from starry-eyed kids in the 1950s to wise, weathered partners in the 2000s.
Between stolen glances in tangerine groves, poetry scribbled in secret, and moments of raw honesty that make your heart clench, When Life Gives You Tangerines is a warm, deliciously dramatic ode to love, family, and finding sweetness even when life gets a little sour.
Written by Lim Sang-choon and directed by Kim Won-seok. On the production side, it was executive produced by Park Sang-hyun, with producers Hong Soo-hwan and Jeon Soo-jung overseeing the series. Leading the series is IU, who portrays both Oh Ae-sun and her daughter Yang Geum-myeong, followed by Park Bo-gum as Yang Gwan-sik. The adult versions of the protagonists are played by Moon So-ri (older Ae-sun) and Park Hae-joon (older Gwan-sik).
2. Tastefully Yours
In Tastefully Yours, sparks fly between two completely opposite souls brought together by food. Han Beom-woo is the heir to a massive food empire and runs one of Seoul’s most elite fine-dining restaurants – but here’s the twist: he doesn’t actually care about taste. On the flip side, there’s Mo Yeon-joo, a chef who lives and breathes flavor. She runs a quiet one-table restaurant hidden in the countryside, pouring her heart into every dish she creates. When their worlds unexpectedly collide, the result is anything but bland.
Tastefully Yours is a cozy, flavor-packed journey that’ll leave you smiling (and probably hungry) after every episode.
Tastefully Yours is written by Jung Soo-yoon and directed by Park Dan-hee. The series is produced by the company Shortcake. It stars Kang Ha-neul as Han Beom-woo and Go Min-si as Mo Yeon-joo, with supporting performances by Kim Shin-rok, Yoo Su-bin, Bae Na-ra, Hong Hwa-yeon, Bae Yoo-ram, and Oh Min-ae.
3. Crash Landing On You
The story of Yoon Se-ri, a wealthy South Korean businesswoman who unintentionally paraglides into North Korea (talk about an adventure!) and falls in love with Ri Jeong-hyeok, a North Korean special forces soldier is the plot of the show.
With the assistance of Jeong-hyeok and his people, the show follows Se-ri as she negotiates her unexpected circumstances in North Korea. They encounter several difficulties along the road, such as miscommunications, cultural disparities, and political conflicts.
Written by Park Ji-eun and directed by Lee Jung-hyo. The executive producers include Um Hyun-gi, Jang Young-woo, Lee Ji-hyun, and Kang Jin-i, while the series was produced by Kim Seon-jung, Park Ji-young, and Lee Se-hee. The lead roles are brought to life by Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin, Seo Ji-hye, Kim Jung-hyun, and more.
4. Mr. Plankton
Hae-jo has never been lucky, but fate really outdoes itself when he learns he was born from an accidental artificial insemination and has only months left to live. With nothing to lose, he crashes his ex-girlfriend Jae-mi’s wedding, pulls her out in front of her shocked guests, and convinces her to join him on a wild road trip to find the father he’s never met. The twist? Jae-mi has her own heartbreak – she’s just been diagnosed with premature menopause – and isn’t exactly thrilled about abandoning her new life for a man who once broke her heart.
Between absurd mishaps, sharp banter, and moments that catch them off guard with tenderness, they slowly confront old wounds and the reality of their futures. What begins as a desperate quest becomes a bittersweet adventure about love, regret, and the strange ways life can be both a mess… and a gift.
Written by Jo Yong and directed by Hong Jong-chan, with production by Base Story and HighZium Studio. The series stars Woo Do-hwan as Hae-jo, Lee Yoo-mi, Oh Jung-se, and Kim Hae-sook.
