Raza’s journey came to an end in Pamaal this week, and with it, a flood of emotions overwhelmed the audience. Along with Malika, we cried, screamed, and ultimately faced the gut-wrenching reality of loss.

When Pamaal first began, it felt familiar – almost like a story we had seen before. Initially, many of us were collectively angry with Raza: his choices, his toxic/controlling nature, and more. But somewhere along the way, a realization slowly settled in – that this story wasn’t just Raza’s or Malika’s. It was the story of countless households. Of every girl who bends, molds herself, deepens her silence, and compromises pieces of her identity in the name of love, family, and survival.
With time, the same Raza who once drew our anger began to evoke our sympathy. His layers unfolded, and his regrets became visible. This week marked the closure of Raza’s chapter, and the entire sequence was beautifully shot: subtle, thoughtful, and extremely endearing.
Raza asking Malika out on one last date, Malika helping Raza get ready, and then the two of them spending those final moments together – it was heartbreakingly tender. Just the two of them, and us – the audience – watching silently, wishing time would pause. Their last conversation felt real and raw, as though we were intruding on something. We wished it could last forever. We wished Raza wouldn’t die. We wished he would survive. But life, as always, moves forward.
Everything that unfolded in the episode struck a powerful chord with viewers. It resonated with our own experiences, losses, and unspoken emotions. Unsurprisingly, the episode has sparked an overwhelming response online, with fans pouring their hearts out over Pamaal and Raza’s goodbye.

As far as the audience is sad for Raza, they are also looking forward to the independent Malika they will get to see in the coming episodes. Malika’s journey will finally be her own. For the first time, she will be standing on her own, making choices that belong to her and no one else. It will not be easy, and the past will stay with her in many ways, but there is a quiet strength in this new phase of her life. Malika’s story will now feel less about enduring and more about discovering herself, and it is hard not to root for her as she steps into this next chapter.
