Babar Javed: The Name Who Gave Some Of The Major Hits To The Industry Is All Set For A Directorial Comeback!

This isn’t just a comeback. It marks the return of a storyteller who redefined what quality television meant in Pakistan. His dramas went beyond entertainment and became experiences that shaped an entire era of Pakistani television.

Babar Javed began his journey in television in 2001, starting his career as a director with the drama Game. From there, he quickly made his presence felt with projects that focused on strong emotions and meaningful storytelling. Over the years, he went on to direct several memorable dramas including Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Man-o-Salwa, Khamoshiyan, Tere Jaane Ke Baad, Manay Na Ye Dil, and many others. Each of these projects strengthened his reputation as a director who understood human relationships and knew how to translate complex emotions onto the screen.

In 2009, Babar Javed expanded his creative role and moved strongly into production, co-founding A&B Production, a company that would go on to play a major role in shaping modern Pakistani television. Their first project, Diya Jalay, marked the beginning of this new chapter and set the tone for what was to come. As a producer, Babar Javed’s vision grew even broader. He backed projects that were bold, different, and sometimes risky – from intense political dramas like Mera Saaein to visually rich and ambitious shows such as Mor Mahal. Whether it was romance, politics, or social issues, his productions consistently carried depth, impact, and a strong sense of quality.

After stepping into production, Babar Javed directed and produced some of the biggest hits of the industry, one after another. Qaid-e-Tanhai struck a deep chord with audiences through its portrayal of love and loneliness, while Main Abdul Qadir Hoon explored faith, identity, and personal transformation in a way rarely seen on TV. Aasmanon Pe Likha and Main Chand Si added to his string of memorable works, each drama combining strong storytelling with emotional depth. These projects didn’t just achieve high ratings – they became cultural touchstones, discussed in homes long after their finales, cementing Babar Javed’s reputation as one of the most influential creative forces in Pakistani television.

Over the years, even when he stepped away from active direction, Babar Javed never disappeared from the industry. He continued producing content consistently under his own production house, BJ Productions, creating dramas for every major channel, mentoring talent, and keeping his creative influence alive behind the scenes. Some of his recently produced dramas – Let’s Try Mohabbat, Judwaa, Raaja Rani, and the Ramzan special Rafta Rafta – resonated well with audiences and received a positive response. These projects showed that Babar Javed still understands what viewers look for: engaging storytelling, strong emotions, and relatable characters. His work continues to connect with audiences, proving that his creative instincts remain as sharp as ever. His upcoming dramas, Maa and Ghulam Bashah Sundri on Green Entertainment, also look set to match the high standards of his previous work and continue engaging viewers across the country.

However, despite producing successful projects, fans always missed one thing – the Director Babar Javed. For nearly 13 years, his name appeared mostly in the producer’s credit, while the director’s chair remained empty. It led many to wonder if he would ever return to directing himself.

Now, that wait is finally over.

After more than a decade, Babar Javed is returning to direction – the space where his impact has always been strongest. His upcoming project, Humrahi, marks this long‑awaited comeback. The drama is reportedly written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, one of the most respected writers in the industry, and brings together talented actors like Danish Taimoor and Hiba Bukhari in the lead roles. While details about the full story are still being kept under wraps, the cast and crew revealed so far is enough to tease audiences. For many, Humrahi is more than just another drama; it represents the return of a director whose storytelling once defined prime-time television and captured the hearts of audiences across the country.

As Babar Javed steps back into the director’s chair, audiences and industry insiders alike are eager to witness his vision come alive once again. We are looking forward to this return and the new chapter it will create in Pakistani television.
