Most of us are watching Pamaal, and today we had an exclusive conversation with the writer who wrote the script, Zanjabeel Asim Shah.

This article is an excerpt from the YouTube interview.
Is Pamaal Zanjabeel’s Story?
Not entirely. Zanjabeel Asim Shah explained that only part of the story is drawn from her own life, mainly events related to Raza’s illness. She also shared that the character of Geeti reflects her mother’s temperament – full of patience and gratitude in every situation.
However, much of the story, including Malika’s journey, Raza’s illness to his passing, and several other characters and challenges, are fictional. She emphasized that while the story contains personal elements, it is mostly a mix of inspiration and creativity.

Zanjabeel Asim Shah described Malika as a simple, homely girl who didn’t know much initially, but even within her home environment, she found ways to make things happen. She revealed that she had originally named the drama Possible, but the title was changed. Initially, she had written the story chapter-wise, but the content team adjusted it to make it easier for viewers to follow. In her original draft, Malika was a simple house girl who, by luck, discovered she could become a writer. Some scenes, she added, were not part of her script but were added later by others.
