The new drama serial Leader started a week ago, and here’s what the story has offered so far!

Mansoor (Ali Raza) is a young man from a village who comes to the city to study at the university. From the beginning, he is caught up in the intense world of student politics, where every student must join one of the two dominant parties to be part of campus life. Mansoor aligns with the KNP, a student group representing progressive and ambitious youth.
Rubab (Kinza Hashmi) is the daughter of Agha Wasif (Faraan Tahir), a shrewd and manipulative political leader of the UIP, one of the country’s major political parties. Rubab comes from a wealthy and influential family, and her parents have long planned to marry her to her cousin Asif, hoping to keep the family property and power consolidated.
At the university, Mansoor quickly gains popularity. His charisma, courage, and integrity in handling conflicts among students make him a natural leader. A series of campus incidents and confrontations lead to Mansoor being elected as the student body leader for the KNP. Meanwhile, Rubab notices Mansoor’s rising influence and starts to develop feelings for him – but Mansoor remains unaware of Rubab’s powerful political lineage.
The story intensifies when Mansoor confronts Asif over a dispute, physically beating him in a moment of anger. Asif and Agha Wasif try to retaliate politically. Agha Wasif, using his cunning, manipulates the situation by announcing to the public that an attack on Asif was carried out by the Builders Association, concealing the involvement of Mansoor’s friends and party members. He orchestrates a police raid on the university hostel, resulting in the arrest of several students along with a few Builders Association members, further consolidating his political maneuvering.
Meanwhile, Mansoor’s popularity skyrockets. Many students, including girls, begin signing up for KNP, which worries Agha Wasif. To regain control, he decides to target one girl from the student body as leverage – but he does not realize the girl he chooses is his own daughter, Rubab. When Rubab removes her disguise, she reveals herself, creating a tense and politically charged moment between father, daughter, and Mansoor. Agha Wasif skillfully turns the situation to his advantage, instructing the authorities to hold Mansoor temporarily, demonstrating his sharp political acumen.
The drama also shows university life during the time of active student unions. There are protests, class closures, and students fighting for their rights. Rubab and Mansoor’s friendship slowly grows into love, but family politics and rivalries make it complicated.
Leader is a story about love, student politics, family power, and clever moves, showing how Mansoor and Rubab try to balance their feelings while dealing with political pressure from their families.
