Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay – After Mashal, It Was Mehreen Who Ruled The Episode, And We’re Not Surprised!
Mahira Khan’s Performance Made Us Sympathise With Mehreen
Throughout the episode we could feel how lonely she was, her desperation and fear made us teary-eyed and then her palpable relief to see Safwan and her Khala, made us sigh with relief.

Did Mehreen say no to Safwan (again) over Aswad, because that was her move in the fight she had with Mashal? Showing that Aswad is still helping Mehreen and she is accepting his assistance to help her get out of jail, defeats Mashal’s chaal to some extent.
It is perhaps tragic that Mehreen continues to fight an enemy who’s not even alive anymore – Mashal has left a curse behind her, and Mehreen must carry it, but for how long?
Safwan won us over and literally made us go “Balay Balay Safwan” when he asked Mehreen:
“I have come to ask you, what I can do?”

However, although we expected, we knew, Mehreen’s heart still belongs to Aswad, but we question why?
Because we sure as hell know that Safwan comes out a winner every single time … but then, that’s not the story folks, so might as well keep our sympathy for Safwan to ourselves, because it’s not going to matter to Mehreen, who’s making a beeline every time for our man in (less than) shining armour – Aswad!
Aswad bhai, aap kyun itnay confused hain or saath mein humain bhi confuse kerke chora hai. Kabhi you go against Mehreen and then you defend her before Mashal’s parents?
The episode was beautifully directed by Farooq Rind to keep you engaged, the skilful performances made you feel the emotions and the mysterious sequence of events kept you hooked.
Despite viewer criticism that HKKST is not really an “aajkal ki story line”, the performances are so on point, intrigues are so intriguing and direction is so above par, that the drama trends weekly on Twitter. No doubt, there is something there that’s making audiences watch, and tweet their favourite moments and characters! Here’s the Twitter reaction from this week’s episode!
