Finally, our countdown days are over as first episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 premiered last week!
Khuda Aur Mohabbat, one of Pakistan’s top notch series (and most loved too) is back with season 3. After a good four years, Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi with 7th. Sky Entertainment bring us more love on the screen, and the first episode has left us in awe.
Meet Feroze Khan’s Farhad
First impressions first – Farhad stole our hearts with his shenanigans and of course, when he asked for lunch. Isn’t that what we all do?
His fun banter with his neighbor (Momina Iqbal) brought comic relief which we loved very much.
“Talo yahan se”
That had us!
Okay, but why bunk your exam? Kuch to aata hi hoga, de dete because we definitely did not like the thappar.
Not sure why, but our heart skipped a beat or two (in a good way) when Farhad and Mahi cross each other’s paths at the mall. What about you?
Fact: We could already feel their chemistry building up despite not a word being spoken – wishful thinking on our part?
On another note, Momina Iqbal was like a breath of fresh air, as the chulbuli neighbour and we’re looking forward to seeing more of her. Mirza Zain Baig added the ‘cool’, to potential suitor in waiting, yet unknown to Mahi of course!
Mahi, the Life of the Party
Mahi is witty, quick and smart. Oh, and ziddi too. A free-spirited air added a spark to her character, though we did feel a tad too much aggression about the ahem, lost suitcase, what say you?
At Rida’s dholki, she was the life of the party, singing the night away. We loved the transition from somber burqa-clad train station to a vibrantly colorful dholki night!
The Mazaar
The mazaar scene marks Junaid Khan’s entry (Sikander), Zain Baig (Taimoor) and Noor ul Hassan (Darvesh). The encounter between Taimoor and the Darvesh gave us goosebumps.
“Mat safar kar aaj, warna sab kuch kho jaega” and “garh barh toh waisay bhi sab kuch hojae ga” gave us chills. Is it because he’ll meet Mahi? A heavy cloud of mystery & intrigue descended right there with his ominous utterances: we’ll have to wait to find out what transpires!
The mesmerizing sites
What set the project apart from the get go was KAM’s cinematography (especially of Multan) – absolutely breathtaking and it hits on another level. It’s already set the bar very high. The aerial views gifted us an appreciative angle of the city architecture, one that made us want to visit the sites to experience the charm first hand.
The tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam (Multan), bird’s eye view of Lahore and the gripping sights in the opening scene had us!
We really hope, we are treated to more scenic views of Pakistan’s landmarks as the play progresses.
Twitter reacts
Just like us, the Twitterati have spoken. Safe to say, KAM 3 is already a success in making. See for yourself!
Personal view
For the past few weeks, I was counting days for Khuda Aur Mohabbat. There was something about it which attracted me. Maybe the element of spirituality or a love story like no other? Maybe a mixture of both? Who knows.
After the first episode, I am not disappointed. I was a bit skeptical before thinking ke kahani kaisay shuru hogi so it’s safe to say the story already has me and my time invested! I have (and I guess the audience too) already sense the intensity of the story. Aagay kia hoga, woh to sirf waqt batae ga.
Are you as impatient to see how the story unfolds as I am?
On that note
KAM has the perfect ensemble cast (the perfect combo of junior and senior artists) but we are yet to meet the rest of the avatars in the next few episodes. Rubina Ashraf, Hina, Khwaja Bayat, Javed Sheikh, Asma Abbas Gill, Mehar Bano, Sunita Marshall, Tooba Siddiqui, Zain Baig, Sohail Sameer, and Usman Peerzada.
The drama is directed by Wajahat Hussain, based on a book penned by Hasheem Nadeem titled Khuda aur Mohabbat. Filming locations include Bahawalpur & Lahore in Pakistan as well as Houston and Washington D.C in the United States.
The first episode has crossed over 9 million views on YouTube! Could it be a possible hit of the season and a drama for the books? Let us know. If you haven’t already watched it then please do.
Oh and don’t miss out on the OST composed by Naveed Nashad, lyrics by Qamar Nashad. It’s voiced in a soul-stirring rendition by none other than Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali & Nish Asher, calming and will have you listening to it on repeat!
