Actors Of The Week – The roundup of actors who impressed us with their performances. Aina Asif, Laiba Khan, Abul Hasan & more.

All those who made it!
1. Aina Asif as Maya in Parwarish

Aina performed beautifully as Maya when she set Wali straight on his selfish attitude. Her body language, seamless flow of dialogue, tone, and expression were all on point, conveying Maya’s anger and frustration.
2. Saad Zameer Fareedi as Sulaiman in Parwarish
Sulaiman has been winning audiences’ hearts, and a big part of that reason is Saad Zameer’s depiction of this character. When Sulaiman spoke to his mother, to Jahangir, to Panna, and then to Sameer, Saad made sure to carry a different tone with all of them, aptly revealing his relationship and emotions for each one separately. Well played, Saad, you’re winning hearts as Sulaiman!
3. Komal Meer as Zarnab in Goonj
Komal as Zarnab essayed the quiet determination of an independent-minded young woman who is not afraid to speak her mind with Farhad who judges her career choice, yet tries to keep her cool with Nabeel when battling harassment in the workplace. Komal is aptly representing a working girl in Zarnab we’d love to emulate.
4. Zara Noor Abbas as Bushra in Ek Jhooti Kahani
Zara lights up the screen every time she takes on a character. As Bushra, she related her anecdotes and passion for acting to Irfan, the energy was infectious.
We look forward to what Bushra does next in Ek Jhooti Kahani.
5. Laiba Khan as Alizay in Mohra
Laiba is delivering on-point expressions that make Alizay’s dilemma very palpable. Her anxiety at knowing Anooshay’s secret, urgency to get the rickshaw before Hamza, and then nervousness during the Mehndi was conveyed powerfully through more expression, body language, and less dialogue.
6. Abul Hassan as Sameer in Parwarish
Abul has shown that he can convey both comic and emotional sentiments with great ease. The argument with Aania, and then later the hug moment with Sulaiman, was a tear-jerking moment that can only come from a powerful performance.
Well done, Abul. We love Sameer in all his shades!
