The K-pop idol, V has released his first single Love Me Again from his own solo album ‘Layover’ & here is what fans think of the MV!

With BTS members releasing their solo projects post their hiatus announcement, fans have been eagerly waiting for the 7th member, V to release his album Layover which was just announced this week! The news of his upcoming debut solo album also comes shortly after V has been announced as luxury brand Cartier’s global ambassador.
V’s previous solo projects include “Stigma,” “Singularity,” “Winter Bear,” “Inner Child,” and “Christmas Tree.” BTS’ entertainment label Big Hit Music announced the album and single release accompanied by a teaser video and release date. The full album will release on September 8th featuring six tracks: “Rainy Days,” “Blue,” “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” For Us,” and “Slow Dancing.”
The Tone The MV Sets
As the first single from his highly anticipated solo album, “Layover” V just premiered his first official music video for the R&B song “Love Me Again” Does the music video and song set the tone for the 5 next songs in the album? The MV itself is a flashingly simple yet vintage one with a blonde V in focus, serenading us donning fabulous sequinned pieces from Celine Men’s Fall 2022 collection, another brand for which he is an ambassador.
V’s solo project come soon post releases from his fellow BTS members: Jung Kook who released “Seven” featuring Latto — which has been an undefeatable No.1 on Billboard Hot 100. While Suga’s D-Day released in April and Jimin’s FACE in March.
R&B With Hints Of V’s Known Love For Jazz
The Love Me Again single is a smooth R&B tune with hint’s of V’s known love for Jazz. The song echoes the heartbreak and yearning of a hopeless forlorn lover who is unable to let their past lover go. Its a mile away from V’s preppy, upbeat BTS style to a more deep, soulful vibe. The song has a distinct vintage retro, lo fi vibe with black and white and blurred retro visuals. Produced by New Jeans producer, Min Hee Jin and directed by Shin Dongle.
A HeartBreak Magnet
For his fans, his warm voice gives you all the cozy feels from the inside. Also reminding many about the long lost love that one never moved on from, the one they deep down still think about but force to forget. There is much appreciation for the idol who is taking on the world without any choreography, special effects with just a microphone and a complete focus on his emotions and expressions, vocals.
Fans are terming the single as a heartbreak magnet! V’s velvety voice and his hopeless romantic feels in the single pierces through to your soul. Each time you listen to the song, its grows on you even more having a deep calming effect with his soothing voice but P.S. don’t expect it to give you any goosebumps. Love those late night drives to perk you up or get you in your feels? This song could be a great choice you could play on a loop!
Korean Vs The English Lyrics
For us, the vocals are on point, even though we might only have access to a debilitatingly embarrassing amount of Korean vocabulary, the Korean lyrics are a dream, literal music to our ears. Okay, don’t think we didn’t find out what they mean, we did take advantage of the auto translate option to get the full feels and the lyrics translation didn’t disappoint. The english lyrics though a bit repetitive were catchy but not deep enough as the Korean lyrics. Perhaps critically where the single would be a little amiss along with the visuals which might not have done full justice to V’s performance.
If by now you have had enough from us, here is Twitter verse’s take on V’s new single:
