These South Asian beauties dominated the Cannes red carpet this past week! Find out who was a hit and who was a miss!

It’s an influencer’s and A-lister’s world and we are just living in it! Facts! These 5 south Asian beauties have been trending and storming the internet for their fashion choices at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Celebrating movies, movies and more movies while keeping their fashion at the center stage.
Red Carpet Fashion Moments are forever a hit or a miss, some we love and some just leave us questioning what fashion even is anymore. Stay here while we see which looks were meme-worthy and which were drool-worthy!
Let’s begin dissecting these celebs Cannes 2023 looks!
Aishwarya Rai
Though no novice on Cannes red carpets, Aishwarya has been giving us supreme looks over the years, she has been a constant at the prestigious festival for several years. But this year we are not sure what to make of her highly sought after presence. The former Miss Universe and Bollywood Icon was seen wearing a sparkling silver gown from the Sophie Couture Label.
Even though we applaud the material choice being aluminium (hello, greener world) but the stiff material seemed a questionable choice for the giant hooded dress trend…We loved the black satin sweetheart neckline, corset peaking through but that oversized bow was the demise of the look.
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to the outfit and the look has ended up becoming a meme. Sad to say but it’s A MISS!
Manushi Chillar
Former Miss World, Manushi Chillar is now also Estee Lauder’s new global ambassador. For her Cannes debut, she was seen wearing a white strapless gown by Fovari. She kept her makeup very muted, with soft smoky eyes and nude lips! What stole our attention was the gorgeous emerald and diamond encrusted necklace by Renu Oberoi! It was one thing that set her apart from what was otherwise quite a safe outfit choice. However, not bad at all, a HIT for a first time!
Farhana Bodi
You would think it was the influencer’s first time on the red carpet but we want to tell you, its not her first! She’s surprisingly been to Cannes quite a few times. Dubai Bling star, Farhana Bodi who is also mainly a social media influencer and model was spotted at the Cannes red carpet in a sublime neon green gown by Dubai fashion house Atelier Zuhra.
Birds of a feather flock together? Okay so TBH, we love the color, we love the hair, the beautiful ear piece, the makeup and the corseted top but maybe a little less feathers might have been IT?
Sara Ali Khan
Bollywood diva and royal, Sara made sure to go all traditional at the Cannes for her debut. She chose to wear a white and black Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree. We absolutely loved the way the Saree fit, it draped as a traditional saree but gave a modern silhouette and was just a breath of fresh air. Her makeup and hair were clearly proof of inspiration taken from her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore’s classic look from the 70s!
The halter neck bralette embellished with beads and crystals along with the saree itself fit like a glove. The hair and makeup too were great. We might have liked for her to have a elevated her accessory game, but hey, not complaining – Surely a HIT.
Urvashi Rautela
Is matching your lipstick to your gown the new thing? Urvashi Rautela was seen wearing a white and blue off shoulder peacock ruffled gown by Saiid Kobeisy. To which she matched her bright blue lipstick. We are literally having trouble describing the look….the gown itself is what we would call tacky? The makeup? Oh, Lord. Though kudos to her for her fashion forward choice of lipstick but we expected the former Miss Universe to have a much more impactful look.
Though we did really like the beautiful diamond necklace but the rest of the look? Big MISS!
