Coke Studio releases the fifth song from Season 15, O Yaara, featuring Abdul Hannan and Kaavish.

O Yaara brings Hannan and contemporary-classical band, Kaavish together – both on separate legs of their journeys through life – Hannan as the up-and-coming artist who has written O Yaara from a deeply authentic place, and Kaavish as the voice of calm that resides within, complemented by its established musical heritage.
Directed by Murtaza Niaz, Hannan’s opening arioso brings him to a conspicuous fork in the road – two choices, one awash with levity and light, the other consumed by premonition and shadow. Hannan chooses the latter, his verses speaking to being besieged by conflict alone; a poignant youth, aching to understand his place in an ever-assaultive world, feeling increasingly embroiled between the uneasy voices that plague his inner monologue.
Enter Kaavish, on the path Hannan rejected. Through the bright public frivolity, Hannan’s dejection reaches and is felt equally by Jaffer Zaidi and Maaz Maudood. Jaffer’s response speaks to moments and stretches in life that do not unfold easily to either resolution or reconciliation. His words give voice to Hannan’s own stronger self, reminding his head and heart not to feel daunted by the unknown; that it is best to trust in what is transient to reveal what is perpetual.
And so, the curtain drops on O Yaara with Hannan’s anguish assuaged, with Jaffer’s easy rationale suggesting an accord, reflecting the sublime reciprocity between mind and soul. This song is as current as it is one for the ages.
Curated by Xulfi with music produced and arranged by Xulfi, Abdullah Siddiqui and Jaffer Zaidi, O Yaara also features music Coke Studio veteran Gumby (Louis J. Pinto).
