A Family Drama In The Making—With A Star-Studded Cast!
Mehreen Jabbar is back, and she’s bringing family drama, emotions, and an A-list cast to our screens! If you know Pakistani dramas, you are familiar with a Mehreen Jabbar project —she’s a storyteller who delivers more than just entertainment. From Daam to Mera Naam Yousuf Hai, from Ek Jhooti Love Story to Jackson Heights, her work always serves up something fresh and thought-provoking.
Recently, Mehreen has been experimenting with shorter formats, giving us intense and gripping limited-episode dramas. She directed Jurm for Geo, a four-episode crime thriller featuring Durefishan Saleem, Tooba Siddiqui, and Wahaj Ali, diving into a chilling kidnap-murder case. Then came Contractors (Geo) with Shamim Hilaly, Mohammed Ahmed, and Mamya Shajaffar, a five-episode suspenseful drama. Later, she helmed Nadaan for Hum TV, starring Ahmed Ali Akbar and Ramsha Khan, an eight-episodic series tackling societal injustice, corruption, and mob violence. Each project has been engaging, and critically acclaimed.
So is this another limited episode series?
Negative! After seven years, Mehreen is finally returning to a full-length family drama! And not just any drama—a 26-episode series packed with top-tier talent! Written by Sanam Mehdi Zaryab of Radd, and if you know her work, you know this one might go beyond just another family drama.
Already on board are Kubra Khan, Shuja Asad, Saba Hamid, and Hajra Yamin. But wait, there’s more—Adeel Hussain, Mohammed Ahmed, Marina Khan, Bakhtawar Mazhar, Shahzad Nawaz, Mira Sethi among others. With a lineup this formidable, we’re expecting magic and do you even blame us?
And For Her Project, Mehreen Jabbar Has Something To Say
Excited to be doing a serial again after seven years—and to be working with such a solid ensemble. Really connected with the story by Sanam Mehdi and the themes it explores. Looking forward to stepping back into family drama, especially one that has a lot to say and some very interesting and layered characters.
