Just in: Eager customers formed a queue at 4 am to get their hands on the Adidas x Ravi Restaurant sneakers when they went on sale yesterday at 10 am at Adidas’ flagship store in the Dubai Mall!

Adidas has paired up with the classic Pakistani restaurant in Dubai, Ravi, as part of its ‘Adilicious sneaker series.’ As a collaboration, it has created a pair of limited-edition sneakers to commemorate Ravi Restaurant’s legacy and Pakistani culture and heritage. What came out of this partnership was a pair of Adidas’ famous Superstar sneakers but in the color green, to honor Pakistan & its flag. We love that!
In the adilicious sneaker campaign, Adidas is collaborating with 11 famous restaurants in 11 cities which according to Adidas “presents 11 culinary-inspired silhouettes, all driven by the mantra – authentic food, real people, fresh sneakers.”
Apart from the color, they have incorporated small thoughtful details about Pakistan and Ravi Restaurant in the sneaker pair that are making our hearts melt. Here are 4 details in ‘Superstar Ravi’ that we are absolutely in awe of!
1. Custom Made Sock Liner With A Hand-Drawn Map
Superstar Ravi has a custom-made sock liner with a hand-drawn map highlighting the meaning of Ravi, which means River.
2. Six Famous Pakistani Dishes On The Tongues Of The Sneakers
Six ‘hero’ Ravi dishes were handpicked by the restaurant owners to be printed on the tongues of the sneakers. The dishes namely, Mutton Peshawari, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka, Daal Fry, Karak Chai, and Punjabi Lassi are written in English on one side and Arabic on the other. Our mouths are watering!
3. Special Delivery Box
The sneakers will be delivered in a special ‘takeaway style box’ to keep the restaurant theme alive. It will also include a special hangtag with Ravi restaurant’s logo printed on it. How adorable!
4. Heel Tab Features The Year Ravi Restaurant Started
The heel tab has ‘1978’ written on it, the year Ravi opened and it also features the restaurant’s name printed on both shoes. In English on one shoe and Arabic on the other. How cool is that?

Ravi restaurant was started by Chaudhry Abdul Hameed 44 years ago. He wanted his customers who had left their home country to make a life for themselves abroad, to be able to taste food that reminded them of home-cooked meals back in Pakistan, and that too at an affordable price. As the years passed, it became a desired spot for tourists for serving delicious and authentic Pakistani food.
