It’s the Bollywood Badshah’s birthday today and he continues his tradition of never missing out on gifting his fans. Today, on 2nd November which also happens to be his 58th birthday we just got to watch the teaser of his heavily anticipated next blockbuster, Dunki. After two 1000 crore movies collection, Pathan and Jawan that made history at the box office audiences, critics and his fans are rather sure this might be another blockbuster to be added to Khan’s list of success stories.
It is the year of SRK and we are loving it. Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan as Hardy, Taapsee Pannu as Mannu, Boman Irani as Gulati and Vicky Kaushal as Sukhi. Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, and presented by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Rajkumar Hirani has also been the director of iconic movies such as Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju.
The Anticipation Of The Blend Of Humor & Emotions
Being touted as the perfect comedy drama with Hirani’s comedy, drama and emotion coupled with SRK’s magic, there are high expectations for Dunki to be something special. We anticipate a smooth blend of humor, emotional moments, and a strong social message. One thing is for sure, it is going to be fully loaded with Punjabi Bollywood jokes enough to keep us hooked.
Smooth Transition Of Scenes
The teaser opens with a striking scene in a desert, where a group of people clad in black cross the rugged terrains, unaware of the target on them. As the shooter almost pulls the trigger the spectators are in a swift transition, swift transition to a scene of a group of friends in Punjab, who more than anything, dream of a future in London. It tricks you and almost makes you think it will be another mystery and action packed movie but the very next scene in the Dunki teaser assures you it will be a warm, jovial, comedy reminiscent of the old Bollywood magic.
Classic, Punjabi & Patriotic
Set amidst the lush green village, with Punjabi music, kabbadi – all the Punjabi classics, Shahrukh as Hardy introduces his 4 friends who are his only family members who wholeheartedly wish to go to London. SRK as Hardy is determined to be willing to do anything to be able to fulfil his family’s wishes. As with many of King Khan’s movies, this movie too seems to be centred around a patriotic feel. The story revolves around messages of belonging, desire to escape what we have always known and a deep desire to discover horizons abroad.
How SRK Described Dunki
In an interview earlier in the year, Shah Rukh Khan described ‘Dunki’ as a comic film that blends humour with profound emotions about the nation. He shared that Dunki will be a grand journey that traverses various parts of the world, only to find its way back home, to India.
A mix of action, the signature SRK humor and the classic Bollywood comedy might really be what we need amidst all the turmoil we are surrounded by.
