Shani’s single-minded obsession with Sajeela despite her being a gold digger is on the one hand, immensely frustrating to watch Ehraam-e-Junoon as an audience but also maybe, a realistic representation of how sometimes, love blinds you to all faults and flaws.
Shani You Are Confusing Us
On the one hand you don’t want to take advantage of Shanzey but then you fail to stop your family from using her money and also, you speak to her in a manner that gives her hope. Shani and Shanzey are still going around in circles though Shanzey has now managed to win votes from Shani’s family.
If we look at both Shanzey and Shani, they are running after people who don’t value them.
Problematic Messaging
The way Shanzey’s character has been portrayed in Ehraam-e-Junoon, makes us question if it is sending out the message that: keep pursuing someone even if they keep rejecting you, as eventually, things will work out. Your undeniable devotion will make you successful.
The Jahez Conversation
We are glad that Nadia took stock of things and refused to acknowledge Sajeela and also set her straight over the phone. In addition, she finally told Khawar that her family cannot afford to give her a car as jahez. The drama is portraying how dowry is still a nuisance and continues to plague relationships.
We wonder if Khawar is really sincere in his apology to Shani and his mother or is this a scheme to ensure he wins them over for now.
