Self-Respect Above All Else
Ehraam-e-Junoon highlights how girls can easily fall prey to false hope and end up hurting themselves. Shani’s actions which show care despite his verbal ‘no’ are misguiding Shanzey and giving her false hope that eventually, he might start liking her too. It also shows how girls need to be raised with valuing self-respect above all else. Despite having so much wealth at her disposal, Shanzey is so deprived of real relationships, that she is willing to compromise her self-respect in order to win over some one, regardless of how he behaves with her.
Red Flags x Sliding story Line
Shanzey, a character that seemed strong and refreshing in the beginning is now turning out to be the modern version of a girl desperately trying to win over her love and ignoring all red flags. The fact that she believes Shani would eventually choose her because she keeps helping him financially makes this a very superficial and sad story.
Cheating vs Confusion
Shani makes us question; is he really confused as to what to do or is he deliberately hiding information from Shanzey, Sajeela and his family. This is becoming a case of cheating, rather than a guy avoiding a situation. And this cheating cannot be blamed in any way on Shani’s mom or Sajeela who are not aware of Shanzey’s real intention or have been told that Shanzey has openly expressed her love for him.
What is difficult to accept is, how everyone in Shani’s family and Sajeela too, fail to see that Shanzey showering so much attention on Shani is not normal and something is not right. Especially, why would someone ask a guy to accompany their daughter to a friend’s wedding when they have no relationship with him?
