We spoke to Sarah Majeed about her hit drama, Fairytale season 2 and here is what she shared with us!
Drama watchers, are you ready? Because your favorite Ramzan drama has just announced its much anticipated season 2! What’s even better? You won’t have to wait all the way till Ramzan to watch it. Umeed and Farjad and their Tom and Jerry antics are soon to be back on your screens to entertain, mesmerise and make you teary. The mere announcement of the show has led to “trending” twitter trends and audiences celebrating the past performances of the 2 leads.
It was a drama full of true fairy tale moments that left fans in awe of their secret love for each other. Umeed was a force to be reckoned with, but had trouble not letting herself be swept off by Farjad’s romantic gestures. Their love story is testament to the fact that true love knows no boundaries and that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and your partner. We can all take a page out of their book and learn to love unconditionally, support one another, and never give up on our dreams.
Teaser For Season 2
Audiences loved Fairytale for being a super fun, chirpy watch for younger audiences. The teaser though, is sure setting the bar high for the actual episodes. It hints at their possible marriage? Umeeds’ devious plans (but will she fall into her own trap?) and Farjad’s suave and charming hero moments will mean love blossoming! The ever so carefully crafted comic romantic scenes have fans lingering on and watching (and sharing) the teaser multiple times.
As news broke, we reached out to the star writer of the much adored show for what fans can expect from Fairytsle Season 2! Sarah Majeed let us know the deets:
Is The Romance By Any Chance Inspired By K-dramas?
We sensed a K-drama influence initially, crediting the thought to being an avid K-drama watcher but audiences too, seem to resonate with the thought and pointed out the OST and their banter in the teaser gives some K-drama vibes. The cute story, light hearted romance, comedy and the banter is all what the audiences are waiting for and many believe it looks even better than season 1 (just imagine the records it will break). A true rom com for the young and the young at heart!
While some audiences sensed a K-drama romance, we had to ask the writer if the romance by any chance was inspired by k-dramas? Well, we have our answers! Sarah says: “Honestly speaking, I never watched any k-dramas especially if you ask about the romcoms. Old PTV dramas are my sole inspiration.” When asked if we will see a more maturing love between Umeed and Farjaad, she revealed “Yes we might be just seeing that.”
What Can We Expect From Season 2 Of Fairy Tale?
Our next question was rather an important one, also being anticipated by the dramas fans: What can we expect from season 2?
The writer went on to add:
She also said she is trying her best to meet the expectations and the hype that has built around season 2 but prudently, also responds: “Let’s see until the episodes air!” We asked if the entire cast is set to be back for the show, she cautiously says she’s hopeful! Leaves us wondering who plans on being a “no show on Season 2”?
Lastly, the most essential element that added magic to the drama, Fairytale? Sarah Majeed responded on what the essence of the story entailed and what set it apart was the “classic romance with nuanced modern treatment”!
We won’t even be asking how excited you all are because the trends alone have justified the hype that is already in place for the hit Ramzan drama coming back to our screens for its season 2.
