Faysal Quraishi, Yumna Zaidi, Bilal Abbas – the performances were larger than life this week!
“Acting is behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances”
-Sanford Meisner
Acting is a skill that few are able to master and fortunately many of our actors have mastered it wonderfully. We present you with our list of 8 actors who impressed us this week by giving us their best performances!

1. Iqra Aziz as Mahi in Khuda Aur Mohabbat

Khuda aur Mohabbat gave us a heart-wrenching episode this week filled with Mahi’s regret. No loud dramatics & exaggerated emotions, but realistic, believable reactions made us feel what Mahi could be going through. Condemned to a life of regret & guilt or is there hope yet? Mahi has grabbed our sympathy with every painful memory she is recollects.
2. Uzma Hassan as Zainab in Pehli Si Mohabbat

Zainab went through a reality check this week. The slight change in her behaviour pattern and demeanour definitely needs to be appreciated. It is with subtle facial, body & eye expressions that Uzma Hassan communicated these expertly. We hope for a happy ending to her story!
3. Zain Baig as Azer in Yaar Na Bichray

The angry young man role is the polar opposite of the calm Taimur Saeen. His constant struggle to justify his behaviour due to his halaat and striving to survive definitely touches our heart. Azer is playing an out of the box role as he struggles to please his new wife, discarding toxic masculinity for the more calm, accepting and affectionate male role – many hearts are fluttering Azer – and it’s all due to a believable character depiction from Zain!
4. Bilal Abbas as Haider in Dunk

The one scene where Haider struggles to stop Minaal’s outburst and then proceeds to explain himself was delivered effortlessly. His heartbreak on his mother’s call – aankh num ho gai. Bilal we’re stumped by your silence as your eyes say it all.
5. Yumna Zaidi as Sumbul in DNTN

She proves yet again, that there is no emotion she cannot portray without making us feel for her character. Sumbul’s disorientation, anxiety & fear – we could feel it all. It was not just her expression, but the tremor in her voice that added weight to her interaction with Jamshed – Yumna you relived the trauma with Ikram & Aunty in tangible terror and we had goosebumps!
6. Faysal Quraishi as Haider in Fitoor

Haider’s disbelief, shock & heartbreak made us sad. Faysal Quraishi’s portrayal of Haider’s thakan on yet another betrayal was definitely heartbreaking. His rage at Mehmal, finally, portrayed his frustration & helplessness – we felt it Haider – it was all there!
7. Ushna Shah as Noor in Aakhir Kab Tak

Noor’s resilience & calm rage is uplifting, especially in a female character. And Ushna does it with extreme ease, we just love it! Ushna’s performance carries a natural flow, a refreshing spontaneity brimming with emotions & a great chemistry with Srha – looking forward to future episodes.
8. Azekah Daniel as Minaal in Dunk

Ghusa, dukh, umeed, & helplessness Minaal is going through all these… and Azekah took us with her on this journey. Her meltdown with Haider was incredibly believable. We felt her frustration & pain.
We can’t wait to see all the stellar performances this week has in store for us. Until then, catch up on the latest Drama Gup with us!
