Find out more about Umro Ayyar and its first look, the movie giving way for the revival of lost classics!

Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning, a movie potentially set out to be the game changer of films in Pakistan is directed by Azfar Jafri under the production of VR Chili Production.
Based on the character of Umro Ayyar, from the classic Urdu novel Dastaan-e-Amir Hamza’s Indo-Persian tales. The novels of Umro Ayyar were full of magic and intrigue for the 90’s kids. Now the legendary classics are being turned into a movie, set to finally release in 2023.
First Look Luring You In
The first look was unveiled last week with a 49-second-clip revealing the title of the project accompanied by intense music. With grippingly dark visuals and mysterious music luring you into the ancient childhood tales weaved with the magic of lore’s, jinn’s and spirits, the classic character was known for his cleverness and theft in the city of “Tilism-e-Hoshruba” and his life was full of adventure travelling around the world to face evils and bad spirits. The story revolves around the new beginning of Umru Ayyar, who was an 80’s-90’s hero character from the very famous story Talism Hoshruba & Dastaan-e-Amir Hamza.
From Ace Actors To Veterans
The classics seem to be making a comeback and we are all here for it! The film stars ace actors to veteran actors from Usman Mukhtar, Sanam Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Farhan Tahir, Ali Kazmi, Sanam Saeed, Simi Raheal, Osama Karamat, Sana Fakhar and Manzar Sehbai.
Tribute To A Childhood Hero & Promises Of Being A Gamechanger
Usman Mukhtar revealed they had been keeping the venture under wraps for nearly a yearfinally sha, but now, they can finally share their dream with audiences. Most of the cast mates are personally invested in the project, being childhood fans of the character themselves – Umro Ayyar was a childhood super hero.
Director Azfar Jafri shared the above. The clip suggests a live action feature film based on the popular character they all grew up reading about but sadly, it has been forgotten over the years despite being such a focal part of Urdu literature. The team is excited to feature the character with … point to be noted “a very fresh take on him”
While developing the movie, the team focused on being able to create something all age groups can relate to and be entertained by at the same time. He also ventured to say it will be a game changer in Pakistani cinema, surely putting our hopes high.
The character of Umro Ayyar from Dastan-e-Amir Hamza is a collection of stories from over 1000 years ago! These narratives are precious, cultural gems from our literary heritage embedded with tales and folklores from Muslim lands.
We are genuinely pleased to know about the project and are excited to experience the magic and tales of Umro Ayyar brought to the silver screen. This story seems unique and might be just the sway the Pakistani cinema direction needed. Stay tuned!
