Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn have broken the internet. Todd Phillips brings the two Academy Award winners for the Joker 2 or Joker: Folie à Deux, a musical. Phoenix reprises his role as Arthur/Joker, while Gaga takes on Harley Quinn for the very first time. It’s no secret, the latter is an amazing singer, but a few years back, we saw her acting skills in A Star is Born, costarring Bradley Cooper, and it was a noteworthy performance indeed.
While the movie is set to release on 4th October, 2024, the first look is here and has sent fans into a frenzy, and it’s safe to say, they’re excited. Read ahead for the Twitter reaction and a little crash summary on the Joker.

Joker’s Origin Story – A Crash Summary
“Joker” is a psychological thriller and origin story of the infamous DC Comics villain, the Joker, directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role.
The film follows Arthur Fleck, a struggling and mentally ill stand-up comedian, who lives in a rundown and crime-ridden Gotham City in the 1980s. Arthur is constantly beaten down by life and society, which he perceives as cruel and uncaring. As he spirals into madness and despair, he begins to lose touch with reality and eventually transforms into the Joker.
Throughout the movie, Arthur experiences a series of traumatic events that cause him to question his identity and beliefs. He becomes involved with a group of violent activists who are inciting a revolution against the wealthy elite, but ultimately, he finds that he has become their unwitting pawn. He also develops a twisted and obsessive relationship with his neighbor, Sophie, who he imagines as his girlfriend but who is in fact only a figment of his imagination.
As the Joker, Arthur unleashes his violent and anarchic impulses, inspiring others to follow in his wake and sparking a wave of chaos and destruction across Gotham City. The film ends with a final confrontation between the Joker and his arch-nemesis, Batman, setting the stage for the conflict that will define their relationship for years to come.
