Ms. Marvel is a miniseries that has taken brown people by storm for its spot-on representation of Muslims and brown households! It has given them the ability to watch a Marvel series and say ‘Hey! This is so relatable’ (A rare occurrence, if we may add). Whether it’s reciting Bismillah before starting a car or trying to convince your desi parents to let you go out it is all too relatable!

Here are 5 things from Ms. Marvel that we could totally relate to and we’re sure you will too! Scroll down to find them:
1. The Groups
Nakia categorizes that the typical behavior of people in groups portrays what we face in daily life. Mosque Bros, Alim Boys, Sunday School Teachers, Insta Cliques, Muallaf, Mini Harami Girls, and for sure, Illumin-aunties spreading gossip in a matter of minutes is all very desi-relatable – we totally get the vibe!
2. Desi Parents
Even if your daughter is about to embark on a mission to save the world, desi parents will stick to their rules and traditions. As ‘desi’ logic would have it, within the relatively ‘liberal’ Kamala family, she’s still stuck with the signature curfews and cultural boundaries – sounds like someone you know? Mayyybeee!
3. The Big Brother
Kamala’s brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh) is a supportive and loving sibling to her, helping her out in times of trouble, yet Kamala is scared of being ‘caught in the act’ (discovered by him) while meeting a guy in public. Being an elder son, Aamir is also given more importance by his parents and has a say in household affairs – yeah, copy that!
4. The Nani
The typical grand-mom behaviour of not being tech-pro at using a smartphone happens almost in every other home – so relatable that!
5. A Partition Legend
Every desi household owns a partition story which is retold in at least ONE dawat or at the dining table. And, it is taken forward with every generation, almost like a legacy, dutifully passed on with the family history, ever since Pakistan came into being.
For those who are feeling left out because they don’t have a Disney+ subscription, we have news for you! The first two episodes of Ms. Marvel were released in cinemas all over Pakistan.
