The much awaited project of Green Entertainment finally dropped its first episode on Sunday and turned out to be a sure winner. Iqbal Munna instantly makes you his fan and Zarnab becomes the inner voice of many of us. A refreshing story about the lives of gang violence, mafia, police and media and the complex dynamics between these three entities. It is light hearted, yet serves as a reminder of the realities around you.

Relatable Watching Experience
What a delightful experience it is to watch the activities of the ghunda mafia in a light-hearted manner. Bhatta, Korangi 2 and dhai, bhai log, murders, all these terms and localities that many of us have heard about or have grown up seeing, are the stark realities of life, so when you see them on screen in a very relatable, yet light hearted way, you immediately connect and enjoy the watch.
Humayun Saeed Revisited
You watch the drama and you are reminded once more of what an absolutely brilliant performer Humayun Saeed is, and why he is the superstar that he is today. You wish you could see him more on the television screen, treating you to an entertaining watch every time. The Humayun Saeed – Yumna Zaidi combination was one of the USPs of the drama, needless to say that the onscreen chemistry between the two is undeniable and instantly makes you a fan of this onscreen joree.
Iqbal Munna is probably the Robin Hood hero we all have been missing and would love to see on screen. A very old yet sure-winner character trait that represents our deepest desire is to have someone in our lives who would save us from all the injustices and zulm, punishing villains and serving justice to those who need it desperately.
The best part was the cool and stylish wardrobe of Iqbal Munna. You can’t miss his style statement and the collars that dominate your screen.
Yumna In A New Look
Yumna Zaidi plays the role of a fearless journalist. Loved this new look of Yumna, making Zarnab stand apart from her previous projects. As it is with all her projects, Yumna Zaidi never fails to disappoint. Her portrayal of Zarnab is effortless and comes across as very natural. The confrontation between Humayun and Zarnab was so well performed by both and not even for a second does Zarnab’s reaction come across as forced or just to prove a point about her character.
Visual Wins
The direction, the script, the performances are all a treat to watch. They make you smile, giving you an enjoyable drama to watch. The cinematography, colour grading, every detail is immaculate, giving the drama a visual edge over other onscreen projects. The use of background music makes scenes a treat to watch and helps enhance the emotions that the scene communicates.
Ahmad Ali Butt as Dilbar is fun to watch with his subtle yet meaningful dialogues to Iqbal Munna. The vulnerability of Dilbar’s character makes his camaraderie and combination with Munna an interesting watch.
We do wish that where so much effort has been put into the character look and feel, a little bit more attention to detail in the appearance of the Assistant Commissioner was required. The moustache comes across as fake and compromises the sobriety of the character.
All in all, Gentleman first episode was an all-round entertainer!
Tell us what you loved most about the episode, and what could have been better?
