Just like every year, President Arif Alvi conferred prestigious Civil awards to Pakistanis who have been outperforming in their respective fields. The 5 we are featuring today have provided praiseworthy services to the Entertainment, Art, and Sports industry.

On 23rd March 2022, President Dr. Arif Alvi presented Civil awards to notable Pakistanis as well as foreigners to honor their distinguished services in their particular fields and towards Pakistan. The ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
There were a total of 9 awards categories including Nishan-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Pakistan, Sitara-i-Shuja’at, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance, Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Tamgha-i-Shuja’at, & Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. (Source: Daily Pakistan)
We have listed down 5 Pakistanis who were conferred with Civil awards for making a mark in their respective fields. Let’s get to know them shall, we?
1. Momina Duraid – Tamgha-i-Imtiaz

Momina Duraid was honored with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for her contributions to the drama/entertainment industry. Although she needs no introductions, the list of her credentials is long but we’ll try to cover everything that makes her one of the most successful female producers of Pakistan.
Momina is a director and producer who pioneered one of the most sought-after production houses of the Pakistani entertainment industry; Momina Duraid Productions. Her production house has produced several award-winning dramas, including Humsafar, Udaari, Sadqay Tumharay, Chupke Chupke among others. Momina Duraid also co-directed the super hit 2015 drama serial & film Bin Roye.
Films like Superstar and Parwaz Hai Junoon were also released under the banner of Momina Duraid Productions. Her most recent projects include the much-acclaimed drama Parizad and Sang-e-Mah which is currently on air.
2. Shakeela Naz – Pride Of Performance

Shakeela Naz is a renowned Pashto singer who has lent her voice for many songs in Afghanistan as well. Not only in Pakistan, but she has been coffered with honorable awards in Afghanistan as well.

3. Salman Iqbal – Sitara-i-Imtiaz

Salman Iqbal is the CEO and President of Pakistan’s leading television network, ARY Digital. He is also the owner of the 2020 PSL champions Karachi Kings. His services with regards to sports, especially cricket were recognised.
4. Rohail Hyatt – Hilal-i-Imtiaz

Rohail Hyatt is a composer and record producer and a former member of the band Vital Signs. You would be interested to know that it was Rohail Hyatt who started Coke Studio (with Nadeem Zaman). Rohail also received a Lux Style Award in the category Best Original Soundtrack for Khuda Ke Liye.
5. Kishwar Naheed – Hilal-i-Imtiaz

Kishwar Naheed’s contributions towards Urdu literature in Pakistan are unparalleled. She is a feminist Urdu writer and poet, with 12 volumes of poetry under her belt both in Pakistan and India. Her work has also been translated and published in foreign languages.
She had to witness the horrors of the partition between Pakistan and India as a young girl. Most of her poetry stems from the pain & suffering of women who endured the violence at the hands of men during those trying times.
This freedom to write and express has come through a struggle drenched in tears.
