What a treat to watch two fantastic and emotionally charged episodes back to back. Habs must be appreciated for making sure it took the audiences along on the emotional journey of Basit and Ayesha.

What Basit Shoudn’t Have Done
We wish the drama had not shown Basit raising his hand at Ayesha. Even though he didn’t hit Ayesha, his intent cannot absolve him from the responsibility of abuse. There was really no need to do that. He could have been shown to express his frustration through dialogues or exaggerated gestures. Basit’s sentence “mujhay ghussa aa gaya tha” is even more damaging as it validates the entire incident and action of slapping.
Basit is a very complex character. He is not only scarred by his mother’s betrayal, but since he has not been around women while growing up, he seems to be unaware of the sensitivities involved in dealing with them. But now with Ayesha and her family, he is discovering a different dimension.
The rishta shenanigans & subsequent incident at Zoya’s proposal served to make Basit realise that Ayesha’s family is facing genuine problems. The fact that he didn’t leave Ayesha at her mom’s simply because she was upset also showed he cared about her, or do you think it was his ego that made him insist she went back with him?
Ayesha’s Words Leave A Mark On Basit
We are loving how Ayesha’s words do not go unheeded by Basit. Instead, they leave a mark on him and perhaps, will gradually help change his stance.
Do you think Ayesha should have read Basit’s letters?
Ayesha’s journey is also now more apparent. She is finally raising her voice and making Basit aware of his ziyadati, and maintaining her self-pride at the same time.
But she is also stuck between helping her family financially and fighting for her place in a marriage that is suffocating her.
Bano making Ayesha realise the difference between her situation and Ayesha’s was an endearing moment, where we understood the point of view of each sister beautifully.
Zoya, in her desperation to get married, fails to see the reality of Aamir’s family, who seem to be even more greedy and arrogant than Zoya’s mom. Aamir also proved to be a big disappointment.
Lastly, the use of the OST at timely moments in the narrative is so apt, it allows the viewers to experience multiple emotions and appreciate critical moments in the storyline.
How did you find the double episode of Habs?
