The 2022 floods were the most devastating yet, destroying a wide area of the country and sweeping away 30 million of the countrymen’s houses, schools, hospitals and more. Channeling Her Loss Through A Promise
Hadiqa Kiani has not only done justice and beyond for her country as a singer and actor but has also gone an extra mile as a public figure and human. Privately dealing with the loss of losing her mother yet still gathering the strength and courage to step up through her tremendous efforts with the creation of her own flood charity Vaseelah e Rah. It was also a promise to her late mother Khawar Kiani and the people of Balochistan.

The Kamli singer and Pinjra star said “I request the people of Pakistan to step forward and help our Baloch people who are shelter-less and going through the most painful time of their lives. Together we can face it and help in these catastrophic times”. Her niece described her aunt as a “resilient woman” not only sending her own funds but urging her network to donate as well. She collected and delivered flood victim tents, medicine, women’s sanitary items, food, water and other necessities.

A go fund me page started by Kiani’s niece collected 100,000 USD dollars in the first round, securing 100 homes for the flood affected in Tamboo Tehsil, Naseerabad district, Balochistan. Hadiqa has actively been on a mission to rebuild the flood impacted areas of Pakistan with sustainable homes for families, homes that she hopes will withstand time and years to come. Not only the build of the 100 houses are complete but they are now officially occupied by the Balochi people. Moreover, point to be noted, the houses are said to be flood and earthquake resistant.
The Real Progress
Throughout this crucial, long and strength testing journey, she has continued to share updates and the progress of the builds through her socials, no matter the weather conditions. She has been personally visiting the site to make sure the right progress has been made and to assure people of the genuine cause while urging people consistently to donate. She not only reached the goal of building 100 homes but also shared she will be able to complete 200 houses and a primary school based on her charity’s name called the Vaseela e Rah Primary school, grocery store and maternity center. This comes at a time when several celebrities were criticized for running their own shows, campaigns and not making efforts to help the flood victims.
