Maya Ali & Shehryar Munawar might just have hit the right button in the couples prem kahani – Do we see you nodding your head in agreement? Well, you obviously haven’t seen the lastest drama teasers if you’re still in the ‘Maybe’ zone – allow us to take you on a romantic interlude – yes, the one that’s about to transform your TV screens!
ARY Digital and IDream Entertainment have teamed up to give us the most anticipated drama of the year; Pehli Si Muhabbat. The drama is written by the much-loved Faiza Iftikhar who has some memorable stories to her credit including the ongoing Prem Gali and the memorable Aangan family drama. It is directed by Anjum Shahzad of Khuda Aur Muhabbat, Mah-e-Mir and many more.

Since last year, we’ve seen pictures, heard about it and the team just dropped the first few teasers – about time, right?
The drama marks Maya and Shehryar’s return to our television screens – the onscreen couple of Shehryar & Maya was last seen together in Parey Hut Love with chemistry that has stayed with the audiences!
It’s become the talk of the town and fans are showering so much love and support – can we blame them? From the intensely ambianced teasers, it’s obvious there’s more than what meets the eye – and we’re so here for it!
If you’re wondering why everyone’s talking about it, this is all you need to know!
1. A Story Of Unrequited (and MAD) Love
Ah, the feeling of being in love is unexplainable. Everything seems magical, straight out of a fairytale. However, life will throw obstacles your way, test your loyalty, patience and of course – love! Just like that, Pehli Si Muhabbat narrates a story of two people invested in a pehla pyaar that is sort of maddening, heady, and incomprehensible – ever experienced young love – right?
Pyaar aur Mohabbat ki kahanian are cliched but as desis, we carry an extra romantic gene in our DNA (for sure) and love never fails to intrigue. But this time around, there are many more reasons why the teaser has us hooked already!
2. Maya And Sheheryar Are Back
After a solid three years, Maya Ali returns to our screens as Rakhshi. Sheheryar Munawar, on the other hand, is set to make his comeback to dramas after six years as Aslam. (The two last worked together in Parey Hut Love and we loved their chemistry!)
The two are, from the first glance, hopeless romantics, unaware of what’s to come.
3. HSY In His First Ever Avatar
Designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin AKA HSY is ready to make his acting debut as Akram (Aslam’s older brother) in Pehli si Muhabbat. We see HSY in a not-yet-seen avatar as he dons shalwar kameez and topi with a flair that’s only HSY, a distantly threatening tone and a heavy aura of mystery. It’s safe to say we’re anticipating his entry with much excitement and can’t wait to see him play a significant part in the play!
PS. He seems very intimidating!
4. The Vintage Feels On Set
Pehli Si Muhabbat is giving us uber-vintage feels with a cross between Parineeta the movie & drama Aangan. The soft-glow lighting, the letter exchanges and an OST that seductively woos romance and tragedy in one – who wins in the end? Well, we’ll have to wait and see!
5. A Support Cast That’s Promising
An above par production needs a stellar support cast to hit it out of the park – and Pehli Si Muhabbat has the casting sorted. Shabbir Jan (as Rakhshi’s father), Saba Hameed and Nausheen Shah also have major roles to play. So isn’t it safe to say the star-studded cast will give us a drama to remember? What do you think?
