Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay is making us watch on the edge of our seats, why and how is a zamaane old story still keeping us in its hold & of course, the burning question – what would YOU do if you were Mehreen?
Kiya jadoo hai HKKST mein that despite so much ‘same old, same old’ we still love it. So maybe HKKST proves that sharp direction, heartfelt performances, a healthy pace & a subtly different script execution can deliver an enjoyable & maybe even, a super hit drama.

Our Thoughts
Was Mehreen’s justification for saying no to Saffan justified or is she deluding herself & the audiences ? Or is her decision to suffer her fate with Aswad but not let Saffan ever say anything negative about her father genuine?

What would you do if you were Mehreen?
The boy you had fallen in love with as a child is within ‘marriage’ reach. You promised yourself to him, but only in your dreams, you never ever dared think it would actually happen.
But then.
That same person is (borderline) suspicious of your every move, distrust is an unsaid emotion that rests in the air whenever Aswad is around Mehreen – in fact, if we’re not mistaken, he did ask her to go to hell in the previous episode. Furthermore, Mehreen suspects Aswad is agreeing to marry her because a) his mom told him to, b) he has feelings for her? Does that a happy marriage make?
No! Shouts the voice in her head. But the voice in her heart says yes. It is not out of vengeance that Mehreen agreed to marry Aswad, it is, most probably out of that slight glimmer of hope, hanging by a thread, shining like the silver line traced against dark clouds, Mehreen has no reason to not take the risk. She does have Saffan, but perhaps, she realized he was never really the love of her life. He was always second best till … Aswad came along!
The question is, yet again – should Mehreen have said yes to a man who doesn’t really know her? Should she commit to a life of one-sided love, unrequited and even a hostile relationship in response?
Oh well, she’s done it now. The rest will play out as the drama unfolds. But at the moment, we the audience are as expectant as a mother in-law who planned an arranged marriage (forcefully) and wants it to work desperately, because we, the audience, are in love with the idea of our two drama leads falling in love with each other – but will writer Umera Ahmed let it happen so fast, if at all?
HKKST is keeping us riveted to find out more …
Spectacular Performances!
Huma Nawab is winning hearts with a truly heartfelt performance.
Though Aswad’s mom employed the typical mom tactics act – ‘betay kay jazbat aur ghusay ko daba do with an emotional reminder of her hardships & achay betay ka maan rukhna line’ – she also didn’t take the chance & squarely bound Aswad & Mehreen with an engagement so there’s no chance of any other option.
Usman Mukhtar delivered such a powerful performance throughout the episode but yes, our favorite would be when he stood up for his mother..

Mahira proved that if you had any doubts about her acting, oh well dear – you need to watch her reaction after Mashal slaps her. However, that slap was not needed as Mehreen had already taken action based on what Mashal had threatened her with, last time…

It is noteworthy how brilliantly Kubra has portrayed Mashal, despite her scheming behaviour, you feel for her when Aswad gives in to his mom.
A Bonus!
What a treat it was to watch Laila Wasti & Huma Nawab sharing the screen – two phenomenal actresses of the Pakistan industry in one frame, saath saath, was a drama lovers treat to behold!

Twitter Reactions to last night’s episode
Mahira is taking on Mehreen with ‘every possible emotion’ and the viewers are noticing!
