Glad to see Dobara didn’t pull a ‘too good to be true’ twist on Affan’s reaction. His decision to move away and take his time to accept Mahir in Mehroo’s life was probably the best decision he made so far. On the other hand, we wonder how we can breathe some life into the dying(?) love story of Mahir and Mehroo.
Ahh, how desperately we wish to see some growth in Mahir’s character. Despite everything he’s undergone, he still seems to be ‘stuck in a rut’ and this not only takes away from the soberness of his character but also, his practical and well-intended actions completely lose impact. We would have loved to see a more mature, grown up Mahir.
Affan Might Have Just Won Us Over
We are happy too see a mature Affan who is finally getting a hold on his life and rediscovering himself. His honest confession about not having an aptitude for business made us respect him. Thank God Seher is shown to be a well-meaning character who was merely side-tracked by her mother and Durdana phoppo, she is supporting him whole-heartedly and we’re so happy for the two of them.
With Affan, Seher, Phuppo (and Ibtisam) gone, please give us reasons to still keep watching Dobara? Ab jab maidaan saaf hai, we hope this gives us an opportunity to witness some romance or … aap janab ka ek our boring silsila chalay ga?
Mehroo Is Mehroo
Mehroo stays true to her soft and caring self. Despite clearly understanding the intentions of Mahir’s step mom, she still offers them monetary support while refraining from judging them. We have to admit, we love this streak in Mehroo – her non-judgemental attitude.
Was Minal’s reaction justified? Why has no one updated her on what has transpired in the family? Is her reaction based on panic because of Zameer’s anger or is it shikwa towards her mother as well for being completely left out of Mehroo’s life?
The lack of communication within the family is also another point highlighted by the drama – Mehroo feels hurt that Minal never dropped by to ask after her earlier when she wasn’t well, and Minal feels she’s being pushed out of Mehroo’s life.
The drama also touches upon our practice of bestowing undue importance upon damaads, so much so, that sometimes, it creates unjust expectations, making them use this as a tool to put undue pressure on wives and in-laws.
