It’s about time we revive your mazay (insert Bhola voice) with a little flashback.
If you’re looking for a drama with the most unconventional romance, then you my friend have reached the right destination. Because I’m going to introduce you a serial that shook our Pakistani audience to their cores: Ranjha Ranjha Kardi.

With many twists and turns, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi follows the journey of a resilient dreamer named Noorie. We all love to dream, right? However, let me tell you: Noorie wasn’t met with chauffeurs and money-growing trees.
Whether we like it or not, this drama serial gives us all a reality check. It helps us dive and discover the ideologies of all sorts of people. We begin to understand how easily some people can portray a false persona of themselves. We meet some very greedy individuals and others whose cheeks puff with youth and innocence.
So let’s dive into this world of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and reminisce some of its most heartwarming moments and aspects:
1. Bhola (Imran Ashraf) as the Lead

Pakistani dramas have only recently began raising awareness regarding different mental health issues and their severity. However, there is still an underrepresentation of special individuals in our entertainment industry. This is where Ranjha Ranjha Kardi comes into play. Faiza Iftikhar managed to go against all odds and write about a man with a disability. She added a personal element by conveying the many struggles that you face when raising a special child. However, the writer also proved that with the right support, one’s condition can immensely improve. Your surroundings do indeed impact you very deeply. She reiterated the fact that we are all equals and no one deserves to be discriminated against. We’re all capable of living a life of prosperity as long as we instill qualities such as tolerance in our mindsets.
2. Bhola and Noorie’s On Screen Chemistry

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi clapped back at typical desi dramas with the most unconventional romantic plot! While this drama also featured our common “love triangle”, the execution of the idea was far from anything you have already seen! It’s not easy for me to obsess over fictional characters. Noorie and Bhola, on the other hand, were an exception.
I found myself on my tippy toes each time an episode aired at 8pm on Saturday. Will Noorie run away from home? How will the couple reunite? Will they end up together? All these thoughts were racing in my mind. And at the same time, I was enamored by the innocence and simplicity of the lead couple. Their soft dialogues and giggles were enough for my heart to melt and for me to have a crescent on my face. There were no unnecessary slo-mo thappars, though there were A LOT of problems and tensions in their relationship. There was a clear indication that Noorie and Bhola were like the desi Chuck and Blair: fairly toxic for each other but also meant to be. Imran Ashraf and Iqra Aziz’s act was noteworthy and had us all hooked!
Noori and Bhola’s worlds are different in their own way but they come together at some point in such a manner that they become one just like Heer and Ranjha.

P.S We loved the scene in which Bhola even admitted that he’d come infront of a moving train for his wife! (Attached below)
3. SPOILER ALERT: The Scene Where Bhola Becomes a Father
After a series of unfortunate events, we were really looking forward to a happy ending for Noorie and Bhola. And we sure did get it! Bhola finally becomes a father: he’s now portrayed as a content, responsible adult. This scene had us all in tears-we held our tissue papers with the most tenacious grip! The development of the characters to this stage was exceptional; it was all so subtle yet not rushed. We stood by Bhola as he was nervous about meeting his son, however, were also celebrating with him as he finally became more comfortable. This scene tied the entire drama together in the most beautiful and emotional way possible.

Ranjha Ranjha Kardi engaged their audience by interweaving comedy and tragedy in the finest manner. Bhola’s catchphrase was loved and shared by many, “Hayee Mazay.” The positive energy and vibes that this drama shed off guaranteed that you WILL find light at the end of the darkness. Do not lose hope and live every moment. Life is all about ups and downs, so have some maza with Ranjha Ranjha Kardi. You will not regret it; especially with Imran and Iqra‘s phenomenal stage presence.
