The drama elicits such mixed reactions, that by the end of the episode, you’re left wondering what just happened? On the one hand, the changeover of Suleiman and Dawood, the events that follow, makes it all look like child’s play, but on the other hand, the Shahmeer-Shibra moments offer something surprisingly enjoyable.

Classic Inspiration
It used to happen in classic Bollywood films, that the hero and heroine stumble upon a quaint town or local community. Their interactions there would lead to a dance sequence where they express their love or share a romantic moment set against the backdrop of the town’s vintage charm. We experience a similar vibe in the latest Ishq Murshid episode, presenting the audiences with a surprise Sindhi wedding.
Audiences appreciated seeing more of the couple they have grown to love and more traditional moments between them. However, scene execution could have been scaled up a notch so we could give credit to creators whole-heartedly, for coming up with the idea, rather than audiences just applauding the scene because of the presence of a famous star.
Our Questions
Was this the reason Dawood Ali Khan said yes to the wedding? And perhaps there needed to be a clear connection between the dialogues and Dawood’s sudden agreement?
Tumhaare paas do raaste haim, ya tau Shahmeer ko uski zindagi kay hawaale kardo, aur doosra ye hai keh,… mein waada karta hoon keh jo kuch tumne mere saath kiya mein marte dum tak kisi ko nahi bataoon ga
Suleiman sahib, Ishq Murshid
Here’s what raises a question: How and why did Suleiman suddenly change his mind, and at which point was his argument so strong that Dawood gave in abruptly and decided to agree to the wedding? There was no imminent threat to Shahmeer’s life that would compel Dawood to accept Suleiman’s proposal. And this threat would still persist if they conspired to separate Shahmeer and Shibra later on.
While it was interesting to witness two weddings, the repetitive silent exchanges and glances between Shahmeer and Shibra became quite tedious to watch. We wished we could view more engaging interaction and dialogue instead. After all, there’s only so much silent communication one can endure? Even the poetic or romantic elements need to be well executed.
The editing felt disjointed. Perhaps, the team was playing with a new style of storytelling, where scenes are presented in rapid succession, one after the other, without clear connections or contextual relevance. It appears that IM is experimenting with the opposite of prolonging a drama – hence showcasing a point in superfast speed with quick, standalone scenes, without integrating references within them.
An Enjoyable Watch!
Despite many of our reservations about the episode, we appreciate the drama’s portrayal of Sindhi culture, and the seldom-seen landscapes from the region – a commendable effort indeed. We especially enjoyed watching the rasams.
Is Dawood not going to spare his guard who was formerly with Shahmeer, for withholding the truth about Shahmeer’s plan?
