Shahmeer and Shibra in Ishq Murshid are finally married, but the traditional rituals, also known as rasams, that audiences witnessed in last night’s episodes has them buzzing. So, we thought, why not break down each one of them…
It wasn’t merely a dream sequence; it happened for real! Shibra and Shahmeer have finally tied the knot and are now embarking on a new journey together. “Ishq Murshid,” written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and directed by Farooq Rind, is a production of Moomal Productions & MD Productions, starring Bilal Abbas Khan, Dur e Fishan Saleem, Salma Hassan, Noor ul Hassan, Omair Rana, Srha Asghar, and others.
Though Dawood Ali Khan may have consented to the marriage outwardly, he still harbors sinister plans and is bent on getting Shahmeer married to Mehreen. While he may have permitted Shahmeer and Shibra’s marriage, will he allow them to remain happily married? But for now, let’s see what audiences are currently relishing as audiences. Fans of the drama, thoroughly enjoyed witnessing all the traditional Sindhi and desi rituals in last night’s episode of Ishq Murshid.
Many believe it was the most dreamy wedding imaginable, so much so that even Shahmeer can hardly believe it! Neither can we, but viewers happiness knows no bounds. It was undeniably a happiness boost, elevating serotonin levels as all finally saw the two enter a new phase in their love. The episode became even more heartwarming when the real Fazal Baksh aka Fazlu decided to celebrate Shibra and Shahmeer in the truest sense, with genuine celebrations, happiness, and dancing. Additionally, it was adorable to see how their eyes did most of the talking, surely providing the audience with a wholesome wedding sequence.

1. Takkar Lagwai AKA Laaoon
Elders held Shibra and Shahmeers foreheads and bumped them together. In this rasam, known as Takkar Lagwai, the elders of the family hold the heads of the bride and groom, bump them together for 7 seven times and give their blessings.
2. Ungli Pakrai AKA Dawan
Shahmeer stood around many girls, raising his pinky up in the air, this rasam of Ungli Pakrai, is essentially one in which the groom is surrounded by his sisters-in-law who are trying to get a hold of his finger and once they do, they demand him to pay up which Shahmeer had to, too!
3. Tik Rasam AKA Arsi Musaaf
Also called “munh dekharanu”, many fans are swooning over this one scene. A big mirror or a steel pan is placed in between the couple and then the veil of bride is slightly opened and groom’s “mor” are also put aside, both bride and bridegroom see each other in the mirror. The groom then gives a gift for seeing the face of bride.
4. Ring Fishing
A thaal with rice is placed by the bride’s sister-in-law, and the couple is asked to find the ring among the rice. Both the bride and groom are supposed to put their hands into the thaal together and search for the ring, but they are only allowed to use one hand. then in a tray of rice, both aim to find the ring first. Rumour has it, the first one to find it has the upper hand in a marriage…
