Fazal Baksh was up to his usual antics; from pretending to be asleep early morning in the cafe to bribing the real Fazal Baksh to sell vegetables at low prices. Shahmeer as Fazal Baksh has finally managed to break through Shibra’s defense.
Nargis Phuppo’s Comic Apology
When Nargis Phuppo comes to beg forgiveness, it made us smile. Not only was the scene funny but also, because we really wanted her to pay a price, as audiences we were really glad that she now has to apologise and would dare not do anything to hurt Suleiman Sahib and family. But Nargis phuppo is, after all, Nargis phuppo, the minute she spots the necklace in Sukaina’s hands, her greed makes a comeback!
Sukaina’s Remarks
Should Sukaina have passed that “below the belt” remark at Suleiman sahib in front of everyone? Maybe she should do the same with Zohaib as well? If her father didn’t try to help the situation, her husband was also bent upon not finding a job for himself.
Logic Out The Window!
To enjoy Ishq Murshid we have chosen to throw logic out the window. (Do we sound like a broken record, a song on repeat?). In the world of Ishq Murshid it is funny and heartwarming how Fazal Baksh has convinced everyone, except Sukaina, (in the educated and sane clan of Suleiman sahib), that his Sheikh has worked his magic and made phuppo have a change of heart.
Shibra and Suleiman sahib, two people who consider themselves very smart are completely won over by Fazal Baksh and this chakar of him being a “ Molai” soul. So now, Fazal Baksh has finally made his place in Suleiman Sahib’s household and we are enjoying the VIP treatment he is getting.
Love In the Air
By helping her sister, Fazal Baksh has won Shibra’s heart. She has now stopped looking down on him. She still thinks he is not that smart but slowly and steadily, she might be becoming a Fazal Baksh fan. Fazal Baksh does surprise her by his conversations about the stars and the sun, something she was not expecting.
Shahmeer’s luck is going strong, everyone is willing to help him as Fazal Baksh. Munawar bhai at the office is also willing to pray for, and help Fazal Baksh in his real life story, without taking any bribes. Fazal Baksh talking to Suleiman Sahib, sliding to the floor and then his reaction to Suleiman Sahib offering to talk to his father in-law made us smile.
Faraz bhai you were taking too many risks by teasing Shahmeer at Mehreen’s lunch. If looks could kill, you would have been dead, after the way Shahmeer looked at you.
Storytelling Highs
Appreciating the drama for Shahmeer justifying why he has an old phone, when he is caught with it twice. By the way, did the stepmother overhear him talking to Shibra? Shout out to Director Farooq Rind and writer Abdul Khaliq Khan for using the real “Fazal Baksh” as a character who keeps popping up from time to time. It is a different and unique angle to the story, and we have now started enjoying his presence – it is a refreshing way to communicate some messages and emotions, it also allows a certain character more screen time showing the versatility of his performance.
Point To Note
A grown man living in your house and stealing glances at you secretly while brushing his teeth is a call for concern and not a cute moment. Maybe a bit later, when they would have known each other a bit more, would make it seem more natural.
