What a beautiful episode of Jaan-e-Jahan as Shehraam faces the reality of his stepmother, struggles to survive in that toxic environment, longing to be with Mahnoor, and is then completely shattered as Taimoor’s mother announces Taimoor and Mahnoor’s engagement.

Shehraam’s Double Meaning Conversations
As Shehraam tells Kishwar “aap kay haath sey to mein zehar bhi kha loonga” and goes on to have a conversation with double meaning, we are scared for him. What will she do next if she finds out that he knows the truth? Should he take this risk? We also feel his pain as he suffers the painful realisation of uncovering the real face of this woman. But then Shehraam wins us with his never-ending belief in the goodness of humanity as he hints to his stepmother that eventually, everyone faces this inner evil and maybe Allah will guide each one in time.
A Simple Love Story
Mahnoor and Shehraam’s love story and the conversation is so simple, pure and relatable. Dialogues that they exchange with each other are those that we can imagine speaking ourselves, nothing complicated or too difficult. Yet they convey the intensity of the love these two share, the respect they carry for each other and the longing they have to meet each other – the magic of 18 hours, 35 minutes and visiting school as the only way to meet Mahnoor will stay in our heart for a long time.
Thank God Mahnoor’s father didn’t say anything negative to her after seeing her interact with Kishwar in the car and instead, gave her a perhaps, much needed advice that she can choose not to marry Taimoor and he will be okay with it, but marrying Shehraam is not a possibility for her.
Kishwar’s Toxic Remarks
Kishwar’s “below the belt” comment smeared the relationship between Mahnoor and Shehraam and her father’s reality check is probably what made Mahnoor say yes to Taimoor’s proposal. That is the only way she can stop anyone tarnishing her character and her relationship with Shehraam.
What is Gulzaib upto?
Why is she okay with Tabraiz dropping her home? Up until now, we were giving her the benefit of doubt although maybe she is trying to manage the situation, but she definitely doesn’t need to be dropped by Tabraiz knowing his intentions and that he is engaged. Interestingly, Tabraiz mentions a nikah with her and not mentioning this to anyone. This alone should open Gulzaib’s eyes.
The Final Blow To Shehraam
It was not just Shehraam, we also felt sad when we found out about Mahnoor’s acceptance of Taimoor’s proposal. It was something Shehraam could never imagine would happen. He was already struggling with Kishwar’s truth and now this … it is as if his whole world had come crashing down.
We leave you with a final question. Drop your answer in comments if you feel Shehraam is too heartbroken now to fight Kishwar. Or, will Mahnoor’s strength still help him survive in the world of Tabraiz and Kishwar?
