So, looks like Sherry has a past? A relationship or an ex-wife? Would the narrative of Jaisay Aapki Marzi be more effective if this was hinted or narrated earlier rather than confusing some audiences about Sherry’s sudden flip in personality? Was it realistic or did it need more background conversation?

Are We Expecting Too Much From Aleezay?

Aleezay is finally taking a stand. She is refusing to be deluded with Sherry’s fake love claims. Are we expecting too much from her when we expect her to get her bearings right and be the strong person she is supposed to be, deal with the situation calmly and in a more controlled manner rather than being utterly impacted by Sherry and her parent’s emotional blackmailing? That doesn’t mean we think strong women cannot cry. All these things stop you from connecting with the character and to feel for her.

Aleezay Should Follow Her Instincts, Sherry Saving Her Parents Can Not Make Her Go Back

Sherry saving her parents cannot be the reason for Aleezay to go back to him, for her parents to tell her to go back. What Sherry did, he should be doing by virtue of being a human. His negative streaks cannot be ignored because of that. Aleezay feels confused now, what can she do? On one side everything and everyone around her is making her feel what happened was not a big enough deal, but on the other hand her gut feeling, and her instinct is telling her the situation is grave. Warning her to not repeat her mistakes again.

Sherry’s Toxicity & Manipulation

Sherry is not only toxic but a manipulator. Taking Aleezay’s mother out for lunch and making her believe him rather than her own daughter shows his manipulative nature. Men like Sherry make marriage all about their ego and their importance. He wants to control Aleezay’s actions and wants that everything that Aleezay does, should be about him, and should revolve around him. Despite pretending to be a very broadminded person, he actually has no respect for Aleezay’s work and her struggles.

Aleezay’s Mother’s Dialogues Are Fit To Break A Girl’s Spirit

Aleezay’s mother’s dialogues show how a girl’s family and their attitude can slowly break her spirit, make her doubt her own self and stop her from taking a stand against toxic people. Interesting point is how mothers and families forget it is their own daughter who they are doubting. Suddenly they believe someone else over her.

What Left Us Wondering

The last resort and solution presented in every marriage with difficulties is to have a baby, an advice given to both Sherry and Aleezey. How many of you thought that the letter Aleezay opened was her pregnancy report? Do Aleezay’s parents really have to go live with her at her in-laws? There has to be a better solution than this. Do they have no friends, no relatives? Seems strange that they have only one relative who lives in a house with one washroom.

Why didn’t the friend who facilitate the marriage between Aleezay and Sherry, mention anything about his past? Why can’t our dramas focus on one issue at a time, one point… like Sherry being insecure because of Aleezay’s fame, her success and becoming a toxic person, something realistic and relatable? Adding so many other angels, like a past, or making him a mentally toxic person, a manipulator… just takes away from the main narrative.

Just For fun…

Can you guess how many times did Natasha say “Freshen up” in the last episode? Though Natasha did get one thing right; who keeps so much gold at home these days?
