Janice Tessa is ruling our TV screens with her phenomenal performance as Zoya in the drama Habs alongside lead actors Feroze Khan and Ushna Shah. In a recent interview with Rabia Mughni of FUCHSIA Magazine, she spoke about being bullied on her skin colour.
Janice Reveals The Harsh Comments She Had To Hear
I am being bullied since my school. Kuch log thay, they said if you want to be in the lead then you need to be white. Aur kisi ek nahi bola kafi saron ne bola hai mujhe yeh.

“I have been getting bullied on my skin colour since my school days. There were some people, I won’t name them, who told me that if I want to be a lead actor I’ll need to be fair-skinned. Not one but there were a lot of people who told me this,” she said.
Janice On Her Experience With Criticism
Act nahi acha kar rahi, expression ache nahi de rahi, dialogue delivery sahi nahi hai, Bilkul jaiz hai bolna, bolo I will improve myself.

It’s fine if people talk about my expressions or dialogue delivery, I will improve myself but people are harsh at times on my appearance,” she stated.
Janice Speaks About Being Called ‘Kaali’
Agar aap yeh bol rahe ho k is kaali ko toh hatao yahan se, is kaali ko kyun rakha hoa hai, yeh kaali toh mujhe nahi pasand. I mean logon ne naam hi kaali rakh dia hai. That is just a character, kisi ko pasand ayega aur kisi ko nahi ayega, which is fine. But you are being personal right there with skin tone.

“People have named me ‘kaali,'” she expressed. It’s just a character, some people will like it and some won’t however passing judgments on your skin tone is personal and wrong, she added.
Janice Shares How She Prefers Not To Focus On The Hate
I am generally not bothered, I am a very strong person, mai ne khud ko demotivate hone nahi dia but insaan hoon na kabhi toh hota hai mehsoos. Is hi color peh mujhe pyar bhi buhat mila hai mujhe toh mei us ko dekhongi na over hate.

Janice stated that she is usually not bothered by hate and doesn’t let it demotivate her. She has received a lot of love because of her skin colour as well, so she would rather focus on love than hate.
