Jhok Sarkar just dropped the OST Meri Matti – the song carries a definite patriotic feel with soothing vocals from Farhan Saeed

OSTs have the power to sell dramas. Where some musical scores are rolled out before the first episode is screened, others take their time to let the story drift into and around our peripheral senses and conversations, when viewers are already familiar with the background score with two episodes in and then drops the full OST, connecting audiences with the feel of the narrative.
Meri Matti, lyrics, composition and rendition seems to be an ode to the nation. The lyrics send out patriotic feels, just like the character of Arsalan aka Farhan Saeed who’s belting out captivating vocals penned by Sibtain Khalid in a soulful rendition strung together by composition from Adrian David Emmanuel. Although the song can be listened to as an audio, the YouTube version lays the background to the story. Despite the heart-tugging lyrics, the action, drama and thrill in the accompanying OST add to the overall feel.
if we haven’t seen enough of the formidable Cholistan landscape in the past two episodes, the OST promises more – more outdoors, more action, more drama and also, more romance.
Not just the action sequences, but hints of a loce story are also at play behind the scenes. Since audiences are still awaiting a fateful first meeting between Hiba Bukhari aka Sassi and Farhan Saeed aka Arsalan together on the screen, the OST treats them to more instances of the two together than both episodes so far.
Finally, it is interesting to note that Meri Matti has been published with lyrics embedded as captions within the video which is a first for most OSTs. The move lends the spotlight to the essence and meaning of the lyrics, going that extra mile to make us feel the emotion behind the words.
Meri Matti will grow onto audiences for sure, especially as it is employed at the right moments within the drama by director Saife Hassan to give us moments that will resonate with the scenes and emotions of the moment.
