The performances from Wahaj Ali, Maya Ali and Talha Chahour shone like the brightest star, in fact the entire cast came together to mark a project that will go down in history as a projects that future creators will look to, in order to up their content game! Catch our throwback thoughts on the story, possibly one of the best performances, directorial efforts and production wins for the entire team!
The series was produced by H2 Films, boasted a talented team led by writer Ali Moeen and director Haissam Hussain. The creative vision was further enriched by the author, Col Z. I. Farrukh. The stellar cast included Wahaj Ali, Maya Ali, Talha Chahour, Nadia Jameel, Adnan Jaffar, Sajid Shah, Fazal Hussain, Rana Majid, Aurangzaib Mirza, Omar Darr, Ahmed Abbas, Shireen Zahid, Usman Zia, Omar Cheema, Zaheer Taj, and Fahad Hashmi. Together, they brought their individual skills and charisma to contribute to the success of the project.
Laudable Performances

Wahaj Ali as the real-life Shafi Imam Rumi (guerilla fighter for Pakistan, freedom fighter for Bangladesh) added intensity & raw emotion onscreen, keeping us on the edge of our seats. Maya Ali nailed it as Sonia – a graceful, mesmerizing performance that portrays the character’s courage & determination.
Talha Chahour, you are a find and a half! Captain Farrukh was the stuff officers are made of. A shout out to director Haissam Hussain for spot-on casting!

Usman Zia as University warden depicted a spine-chilling portrayal. His posture, accent, tone & expressions came together to create a character that demands to be noticed!

We May Need To Revisit Our History Book!

The stellar direction in the final 5 minutes with riveting scenes running in parallel just blew us away!
The narrative maps out historical & political references leading up to the 1971 revolt. One would be well advised to read up on characters & events from the time. E.g. Agartala Conspiracy, Martial law withdrawal, 6 point plan, delay in National Assembly session, and student & political activities at the time in Dhaka University.
