Latest: The much anticipated Bollywood remake of our Pakistani hit, Pasoori Nu just released an hour ago and twitter is in a frenzy. Find out more!

There were reports last week that the upcoming Bollywood movie, SatyaPrem Ki Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani was in between remaking the Pakistani hit, Pasoori. The makers were said to be claiming recreating the same magic enjoyed by the global hit.
The remake of Pasoori, “Pasoori Nu” is like a frantic bomb that dropped on us Monday morning – we caught the rumours last week and it turns out they were true! Internally, we still had a shred of hope and were thinking its an IF. Would it be actually happening? It was all up in the air, Sunday night they released a teaser and come Monday morning, the song is out.
Let us take you straight to our thoughts on the attempt!
First Look
Well, the song just DROPPED! First thoughts? Uh of disbelief! Post those 10 seconds of disbelief, to be very honest – what irked us was how they termed it as “Relive the global hit” Excusez-moi? Did you mean Pakistani* Global Hit? We are surely amused at how conveniently they literally forgot to add that part or didn’t want to. The video starts with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani running through lush mustard fields in mountainous regions, highly nostalgic of DDLJ scenes – the intro of the music is different to the original and if we might add quite nice, which tbh could have been just as good a song on its own!
Underwhelming Or Overwhelming?
The chorus kicks off with Kiara and Kartik coming together clad in white tops with denims and lip syncing to the rendition. Correction: Kartik lip syncs while Kiara (we love her) but she barely moves. If they so wanted to add their Bollywood take on it, the least they could have done was worked hard on the choreography, sets, outfits, acting! Something? Our beloved song was just left at the mercy of two Indian actors lip syncing like they didn’t know the song and sluggishly grooving on a barren (UNDERWHELMING) set. They just interjected the song periodically, with random romantic inserts from the movie.
Was There A Highlight?
You could disagree with us but the song’s attempt seems like an easy fix to a claim to fame for the movie yet to be released. Underwhelming, bland and half heartedly done! Arjit Singh’s vocals could sure stand a chance but the visuals? So disappointing. There was literally nothing captivating about it and it showed how it was only shot in a day or two! The literal highlight of it? Kartik Aaryan lip-syncing half asleep and acting some bits out. Guys, you could have gotten a Red Bull or something to show just the slightest bit of enthusiasm? Our original was so artistic, soulful, so cultured and vibrant!
Could Arjit Singh Save It?
While many are remembering the OG Pasoori as being incomparable, many are also crediting Arjit’s mesmerizing vocals, while some are terming the song as Arjit’s unforgettable experience for the listeners. But we all forgot Pasoori is a heartbreak song, cursing your ex lover, how have they turned it into a love song? Sure, Arjit is as always good but what are those visuals and why are people forgetting it’s a Pakistani music experience at the end of the day. Though we agree Arjit has not done a bad job, it’s quite agreeable (yes we are still on the fence). People are saying he converted a sad song into a delightful romantic number – the love for Arjit is endless and that’s that to our dashed hopes and joys for Pasoori.
Well that’s enough from us, lets see what twitter has to say:
Kartik Aaryan Can Not Lip Sync To Save His Life
“So, I watched the new Pasoori video. The dialogue intro seems to be recorded on a potato. They tried changing the lyrics. KA cannot lipsync to save his life. Why does this need to exist?”
Make It Make Sense: Pasoori Is Not A Love Song!
“SPKK is a love story. koi aur song remake karte toh bhi samajta. pasoori kyu. The guy is literally cursing his ex in the song, make it make sense.”
Clearly Lacks Emotions & More!
“The remake of Pasoori by T Series lacks the emotions the original had. Disappointed! #PasooriNu #Pasoori“
SatyaPrem Ki Katha’s Marketing Tactic!

A Chance To Unite India & Pakistan In Mutual Disappointment?
“T- series has successfully done what our politicians couldn’t:- Horrendous creation of Adipurush has been condemned by Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and people across religion in India. Announcement of Pasoori remake has United the music lovers of India and Pakistan.”
Pheeka AKA Bland
“One word for the Bollywood Pasoori version: ‘PHEEKA’ It’s just bland, unlike the original version but still, no hate. Just an observation”
A Friend Who Doesn’t Know The Lyrics But Wants To Vibe
“Pasoori remake is like that friend of yours who doesn’t know the lyrics but also wants to vibe to vo kuch bhi gaane lagta hai”
But PSA – We Do Realize It’s A Legal Remake?
“T-series ko chain nahi hai bhae. The only saving grace of this song is arijit singh. People sympathizing with ali sethi..i hope u know it’s a legal remake…he must have got a hefty amount. So don’t blame ki khareed liya Bollywood ne…aap biike kyun?”
FUCHSIA reached out to Pasoori Singer, Shae Gill, she commented that she had no idea about any of this and if they were making a remake, they didn’t tell her. If you still haven’t watched the music video, you need to right now. What are your thoughts? Do you like it or not? Do you think it’s unfair to Pakistanis or art is art and after all, Ali Sethi has legally allowed them to go ahead with the remake, so should we let it rest? .
